"Tech tip put all the parts you take off the car in the car" The front end including the top hats are GC and the rear end including the top hats are GD on a SF5 Forester, also if you want to lower the body try using 2002 to 2004 WRX Wagon inserts in 1997 to 2002 STB coil and top hats so you you find used blow STB STi factory struts you can use the north American WRX wagon inserts for a factory rebuild if you use WRX wagon struts on springs and insert you will end up with saggy butt and need a half inch top hat spacer fyi

Was any additional clearance needed for the fronts? I rubbed heavily on my fenderliners until I removed them, and can’t figure out how to clear more space

You wanna remove the front subframe spacers if it's slammed. Oh, & fit a roll centre kit. Oh, & rear roll bar & brackets from a Gc8 👍🏻 It'll "feel" & handle better. Also Gc8 impreza rear top hats r the same! u must have used the gd impreza rear coilovers?
