At the risk of being redundant with the other comments, your channel is the best. I always check it out the moment I get a notification because I know you're not going to waste my time and you'll always have info about something that will help me out or at least educate me. This simple tool is definitely one I'm adding to my shopping cart so I can stop favoring my one magnetized screwdriver and actually use everything I have without thinking about it. Thanks for the great videos.

The steps in the demagnetisation slot have no effect on the demagnetisation. They are just a fancy feature that helps you to identify the demagnetising slot in low/no visibility situations. Also there are actually two versions of this tool and they are not interchangeable. The same tool that magnetised a screwdriver can demagnetise that screwdriver but it cannot demagnetise a screwdriver magnetised with the other version of the tool. A good video that demonstrates how this effect works and shows what I was describing: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iMeqgrWYptephZc.html

I use a solenoid switch to connect a large battery to some high temperature 12 gauge wire that's wrapped double around the screwdriver shaft. Great for re-energizing the neodymium button magnets in my 35 year-old Snap-On ratcheting screwdrivers . A couple of 10 second blasts & the magnets are good for another few years. The small recharging magnets are fine for regular screwdriver shafts, but lack the energy to remagnetize neodymium slugs.

I use an old solenoid from a copier and zap for about 3 seconds with 120 AC. I have found that the tool is great when you dont have a solenoid, but the magnetism seems to last longer when energized by a solenoid.

This is pretty cool. Another cheap way is if you have those small neodymium magnets lying around. I just stick one to the shaft of the tool and there is enough magnetism to work.
