Haha, although usually wealthy people tip LESS. I used to work at a hotel and rich people were the stingiest, worst tippers imaginable. One time an obviously well off couple pulled up with a ton of luggage. It took me several trips with the luggage dolly fully loaded to get all of their luggage to their room. Half an hour or so later and sweating profusely, they looked at me, then shut the door. Not even a thank you.

In my experience with gig working and instacart shopping ,the tips tend to be better with shopping apps. I guess people appreciate you doing the headache of shopping as opposed just picking up some fast food for them.

The most I’ve seen in my area is $9,600 in a month. It was multi apping and roughly 80 hours a week. These guys did work no less than 12 hours a day.

I would never see tips like that where I am. I just started like a week ago. Did it a few years ago as well briefly. Have a full time job and just wanted to make some quick money. So have only done two days actually. One was a sunday and started later like 5pm til like 10 pm and made 43$ only. Then did it on Tuesday from 4pm til 930pm and only made like 54$ biggest tip was 10$ then one delivery was literally a pack of underwear and socks from family dollar delivered to the projects. Im not even kidding. Idk if they tipped bc it was a batch with another family dollar order and i didnt see the tip when it popped up. I dont have the physical card yet so can only do certain stores. I didnt know we could go to costco though. Ill have to try that

I knew when a Macy's office in NYC wanted their deliveries and would always make sure to be in the area and active for that time. The tip was $100 each time and I'd shop in Costco and walk across the street to their loading elevator with 2 carts. Same for Jet Blue and some start ups in Queens.

It’s possible depending on your market. When I worked all day everyday I would have 300 dollar days or more. You would have to be strategic in the orders you pick and be able to navigate the stores efficiently. This was back in 2019 2020 when it wasn’t as saturated in my area as it is now.

Where my daughter is at. She consistently gets 40s and into the hundreds tips, she just got a $200 tip. It was a $235 order and where she's at. There are two to three other people that consistently get those large tip orders. I'm in Texas and they don't tip here. Very rarely do I see a $70 order?

Hi Mike nice video. I do instacart on a daily basis and everyday I get a least one order tipping over $60. I do mostly wholesale stores which are more likely to have this tips. My highest order was from docks sporting goods for $239 with a $229 tip.

@moorefinance9381 i shop at bjs wholesales club or at Costco wholesales. Those are the places you are most likely to get high tips from costumers at least in my area.

I just started Instacart last week and her videos and yours were recommended. She actually lives near where I grew up in Virginia and it’s really nice housewife area. I moved to Texas but I wish I would’ve started before I moved. It’s all about the market. All the stores she goes to like restaurant depot, Costco, bjs within 15 miles from me so it’s always booming here

I’ve done Instacart now off and on for about 4 mos jn the Vancouver Wa ( across the river from Portland, OR) area. Never seen tips like these. I might pay a bit more attention based on this video though and turn the app on more often. DD, UE’s, and GH have certainly paid me better for the invested time- which are truly side hustles on weekends mainly since I work a normal M-F job

I've done Instacart for 2 years in Michigan and Ohio and their batch payments are really a joke-- they will pay you only $7-10 sometimes even up to 3 batches in one! Tips in my area are not that good. The tips range from $2-$50. But catching a good $30+ is rare around here. The most I ever made in one day from like 10am until 9 pm was like $120. So I don't feel like her wages are normal in the Midwest.

I make in between 40 and 60 an hr. I only work 3 days a week and average 500 a week. it's different for every individual. Maybe your area isn't as busy as others. And if I go back to Lyft that's a guaranteed 2k a week.

The shopping really depends. I do spark driver app for Walmart and they have shop and deliver orders. Yesterday I did 2, first was about 20 items and too me 8 min to shop (it was all grocery) and delivery was 2 miles away. It paid $22. The second was 2 items in electronics and took about ten min, order paid $16.

I call BS. It takes so flipping long even when you know the store extremely well. Customers are awful at providing substitutions or communicating and that eats away at your time. NO ONE tips like that here. I’m lucky to get the tip they initially offered. We still aren’t seeing the mileage/gas she’s spent.

I worked at a company that used a lot of couriers and if they use their own car they get a bigger percentage. However they have to change tires at least twice a year along with all the other expenses. Think of the mileage you rack up and you're just killing your car quick.

I do instacart part time and her numbers are believable. If you know your market and know where to shop, you can make decent money. Today I received 2 $90+ orders that only took 1.5 hours each from acceptance to drop off and made $215 in 6 hours only doing 3 orders. Not all days are like that BUT IT DEFINITELY HAS ITS SPECTACULAR moments from time to time.

Content creators for these apps are definitely getting priority on batches.I drive in a big market and getting that many batches with over $20 tips is crazy. Not knocking it because the woman in your video is definitely putting in the hours to make it happen. I congratulate her on her hustle, but 95% of drivers will not see these types of orders .🤷‍♂️

I just had a $500+ day at spark. Almost no tips, just keeping my metrics of like $15-25 per an order and doing 2 orders an hour or more. Keeping my mileage low, or the pay higher for more mileage, usually finishing a bigger order in under an hour, still making easily $30+ an hour. I think market is entirely dependent on it. Only had one tip withdrawn, mostly just went for the straight pay.

How in the heck did you make $500 in a day just off of batch earnings?? That's crazy. In the video her batch earnings were $4-500 per week, which is pretty typical. I've never seen such high earnings in a day without massive tips, which are exceedingly rare.

@@fuzzypanda1684 I stacked a welcome back payout with multiple zone earnings that stacked to few specific stores that day. I'll never see another day like that again, especially after this last year. Last time I made anything on spark, I made $260 in a 10 hour day on a welcome back incentive, killed my body. One of my worst days, but I made my minimum hourly I wanted.

I've been on the IC waitlist forever, so I can't speak for tips on there, but Shipt tips definitely make it worth my time. During normal/slowish time of years I get about 90% of customers tipping, usually around $10-15. During Christmas...woah, enormous tips. I had a handful that were upwards of $70. It's a long game too - the most successful Shipters almost exclusively shop for their preferred members. My friend has a preferred client that tips her $40 every time and orders once a week with 30 item shops and lives next to the store. I've only been doing it part time for a year for side money, so I'm still trolling open metro offers a lot, but just being strategic with stacking orders I average $30-$40 an hour and $2.50 per mile. I don't think you get a true picture of the shopping apps by just popping in on them a little.

This doesn't seem real. I've been a full time driver on apps and worked Instacart for 2 years. It could be the marketplace but I'm having a very hard time believing this at all. Instacart only worked out for me once that I got an $80 tip. Typically the orders are low paying and take way too long to be profitable with the shopping and delivery. If the orders were pre shopped this would be more believable.

She has to be working more than 12 hours a day. Instacart hours shown is when you start the shopping @ the store and stops when you mark as delivered at the drop off. The time to the store are not counted toward the minutes. To get those tips is with a BOT or you want around for 30-1 hour. Those tips are not normal in my area even during the holiday season.

I do Instacart daily and I can say, I've never seen a tip that high, but I do live in a pretty small city...but I will say that isn't surprising because every week most of my income from Instacart comes from tips. My tips have always been greater than my instacart pay. In my city it's normal to see 20-30 dollar tips.

those numbers for tips ive seen mostly from costco or sams clubs but look accurate, the average time for a 60 plus tip order would be about an hour and half if you know the store well and driving locations. 2 orders would be about the same, but when you get into 3 drop offs looking at 2 to 2.5 hours to get it all done for that batch. but also oct nov and dec are the best tipping months of the entire year on instacart , i dont do instacart full time any more alot of down time but the two orders i did today was 66 for one run at raleys 33 items 5 miles 45 mins totals, second order was 42 two shops two differnt stores 16 items one store 22 others 8 miles total 1 hour 5 mins, so 108 Total for instacart 3 drop offs 15 miles counting drives to both stores and 1 hour and 55 mins total time today. Im in a lower volume area so looks legit wish I had those batches out here

CA Instacart pays for your time. 120% of local minimum wage... The high tips I see are when the items cost more... I just did an order for 3 large vodka bottles. Batch pay about $7 with a tip of $25 & I drove only 1 mile. I know it differs state to state but honestly instacart is my favorite side hustle.

I did my first Instacart night this evening. I'm curious about your post. I had one customer with a $90 grocery bill and I still only made about $11 on that job on a Sunday night at 8 pm. So far, doesn't look like she's planning to add a tip either.

Mike!!!! I have nearly made 15 Grand in one month. The secret is your market and knowing which orders to take and multi - apping. Here is an example of today's income. Flex block took 1.5 to complete it paid me $159 , I went to costco after and a $156 comes to me after finished I accepted a late night 2hr block paying $100. That's $415 in one day and i started at 1pm not 6am. Amazon pays very high in WA and instacart tips are very good from the generous customers. Other areas it's not possible market is #1 period.

Love your video's Mike decided to go back in time and watch this one, the intro on this was so good, had me laughing hard. Hard to know what to make of Bellpeppa's orders here on IC. She's supposedly working the very high income areas of DC suburbs so serious disposable income (with lots of dual earners who could use IC)...but getting tips of $30 (often a good deal more) for one of the stacked orders on every single order seems as you said it "impossible"...pings the implausibility meter to the max. That said DD over in Hawaii can be crazy... Went over and watched Nugg's trying to do $200 a day on IC in December and failing, often badly...no $30+ tips there, there's the normal IC reality.

Just a tip, in her video she was in a rural neighborhood, and the three rail fence signifies horse properties, so a high income semi-rural area with horse properties. Santa Barbara Ca, outside Nashville TN, or even the Virgina suburbs of Washington DC come to mind as her possible market. I could be more precise by actually watching her videos myself, but it seems she is delivering to customers that have more disposable money than free time.

There is no way in hell, I drive Uber, Lyft, door dash, grubhub, instacart.... People are not tipping like that. I've driven different markets in my state as well. Overwhelmingly, most rides are $0.0 Tips, at best $5-$10 with a rare $20. I call big BS on this!

It's like the "how I used chat GPT to make $500k in a year!". No. No you didn't. I lives in California and I do Shipt and Instacart. I’m in very busy market but the tips are between $2-$40. Shipt customers tips the more. I’m in a nice area but but between the mortgage/rent/gas in California can’t afford to tips that much. We still being charge for groceries bags 😞If it wasn’t for her tips, she be averaging $12-$18.

I feel that IC isn't as bad as you make it out to be haha I know the layout of about a dozen different grocery stores, so sticking to those stores makes it EASY & quick. IC has a learnings curve because of the shopping aspect, but the more time on it, the better you become and the more you make

That's like saying if your friend works 21 hours he would make $600. Nah, it doesn't work like that. There's peak hours and really slow hours. Saying all of this, yes is possible to make $300 on instacart but you most likely have to work 10-14 hours a day.

Ya Pittsburgh is petty decent for IC, was really good a year or so ago. Some shoppers are still making $40 an hr here. But as a gig market in general i think its really solid here. i can't really solely depend on IC anymore so I multi app now and can make more in a shorter amount of time than ever before. I made $200 in under 5 hrs a couple days ago. Thats over $40 an hr. I try to stick between Lawrenceville and East Liberty for all my orders/batches

If you know how the app works, the batch pay and tip is shown in your phone before you accept a batch. It’s not a tip like they give you on the side because it’s mostly no customer contacts deliveries. A lot of customers actually tip more than that. You get a batch for 70, 80, 90, 100 or 200 plus and the chunk of it is a tip from the customers.

@@geraleealey5297in my area - I have never seen a batch over $80, which I just did the other day and it was the second time in about a year of doing it. And I live in a decent market (for volume of delivery orders between all the platforms) too. Most orders I see on IC are not very good, like shop for 3 customers, 60 items, 10-15 miles for $20. Not worth it. I maybe do 4-5 IC orders a week because there’s just not enough good orders.

Im not even half videl and I'd like to let you know i have gotten tips for 100. 75.. 50... 45..100+ several times... during the pandemic at least here in California you could easily make 400 plus in a single day... i can send you screenshots for orders i got for all these big tips right now.. and not like 20 plus miles or crazy things like that.. just here in my town..

Just noticed on the 2nd order, the tip dropped $30, guessing some stuff was out of stock. That would of been $107.95 for 2 orders!! I just learned the customer can tip a flat rate or percentage beforehand, so refunded items lower our pay.

I have got some tips like that on Instacart and total time for me for an order like she showed with 45 or under items 10 miles or less would take me 1:15-1:30 on average

Yes I get big tips like that! People are especially grateful when you show up in a decent, how you bag the items, and how you communicate with them. I deliver in a pick up truck I think people notice that and give extra even on Uber app I get 18 and 16 dollars added on tips after the initial tip. Be kind a lot of drivers rude and don’t put in effort. You’ll start getting regulars and they tip you because they want you to deliver their order next time because they kinda trust you over others. Some even ask if I’ll be delivering on certain days. Just be a good employee. It’s not discrimination like one commenter said because I’m a black woman, it ain’t just because of how she looks that get her the big tips

Great video...I definitely get nice tips like that but not in one day hmmm I would love to know how she is getting those orders back to back day after day. Yesterday I had a great day! My 1st batch was $118 bucks my tip was $108 woo hoo I was thrilled with that! It took me an hour and 10 minutes to shop and 20 minutes to deliver so was very good $ for my time. I'm a very fast efficient shopper my time is money! Right after that I got a $64 batch then a $55 batch I did 3 one shop batches and make super good $! But....that was just a lucky day! Those nice 50 60 70 tips are def out there but come on everyone knows you can't count on getting those batches all day long seriously I would love to know how she is seeing those types of batches. That's crazy!!

@@chriscipolloni4064 well it all depends if you have any deductibles and I bought my 1st home this year and there are lots of things that can be written off thank God! So I can only speak for myself that I will not be paying much. People that don't have any deductions and/or write offs may be paying a lot in taxes. If you do this full time which I don't I just do this on some weekends but for those that do this full time I would like to hope they put $ away for taxes.

Those tip numbers are good. My tips are in that range of 30plus have been more. The most I got in one order was 456 and on normal my orders pay 45up and take a hour

I’ve been in a really frustrating position recently. Something happened while driving a long distance by myself one time and now I have driving anxiety. I hate going out alone now and especially hate walking around stores alone. But it’s sucks cuz I used to do 5-7 hours a day of doordash and now I’m an instacarter too but I have to have someone with me 😭

you make money mainly from tips.... and certain stores usually have higher batch/tips from my experience. It also depends what state, in CA its becoming way too saturated with shoppers and difficult too get good orders

I had an item come up. I scanned it, it went through and then continued shopping. The lady then said that's not what she ordered and dropped my customer approval rate. I then got garbage orders and I disputed the claim and Instacart kept the complaint on there. I no longer work for them their new update just sucks.
