I’ve been binge watching your videos. As we get to our retirement we will be shifting to more of that passive income. As we are driving for early retirement we are all about growth (for now). We aren’t bond fans, so dividend ETFs could be a decent portion of our bucket.

Hi I have watched a lot of tour videos. Great content, please keep up the good work! Quick question, do you always reinvest the dividends in the company that paid them, or are you investing them in lump sum in some other stock? For example are you buying O every month with the dividends and if you do are you going to do it when it starts going up?

@@Dividendology Thank you for the quick response. No matter the price or only if it is still undervalued? For example in O or VICI it makes sense but what about Microsoft or some other company that grew significantly after you already invested in it?

How relaible is that all those companies will keep the dividend CAGR over time. I mean how big will those company be in 20 years and what growth will be necessary if they continue to grow their dividends like this. I knownyou are taking 7% and not 15-20. But I was just wondering how many already big companies have the potential to keep growing like this.

But what you are aren't mentioning is if a company starts to fall off you will have to sell to retain your gains, thus incurring a taxable event. In any case, sure you can just go for SCHD, but their dividend growth is essentially capped. They can buy and trade all they want but it will be very hard for them to maintain a 10% growth in yield while maintaining 10% growth in share price simply by the math of the companies they hold. That would be ridiculous and people would bid the share price down to match the cost of living. Which is what you have seen in the past 10 years, cost of living up 20% while your portfolio is up some 30% or so.

do you invest in ETF's or stocks? Been looking to start this and not sure whether I should look at stocks that pay dividends or ETF's. ETF's from what I've seen generally yield more but I know that's not reliable to determine whether it's worth it or not. Awesome videos and loving the content!!

Hi, I’ve come to the same conclusion. Holding and keep reinvesting, even spreading overs several companies is the ultimate aim. So in effect you have several pots of 10k each growing over the long term. Oh I wish i had discovered this earlier, then again I do have a pension which has and is doing the very same thing. Take care all and just breath M.

Also I don't believe we will have a share price increase of 7% in the future. A big crash is eventually going to happen. And if you add to your stocks in which you are losing, you get an even better yield, as long as they keep showing strong fundamentals

The weaknesss is that this model relies on 2 things. 1 is companies continuing to pay dividends, 1 is companies continuing to increase amount paid. I feel it is very naive to assume any companies will continue to payout dividends for more than 10 years, no matter their credit rating.

One issue I have with buy and hold while reinvesting dividends is so many companies have to cut dividends at some point. Of course most companies haven’t had to much of an issue with this but my problem is that everything is so overpriced I find it hard to hold anything long term. I have become a temporary swing trader. I just don’t trust the market. It could continue to hyper inflate which seems to be the case so far this year. I think I would personally not reinvest dividends at the moment at the very least. Just my thoughts and I will probably be wrong.

Can't get very excited about this. How many companies are going to be in business after 23 years let alone going along increasing dividends above the inflation rate? What is $500 worth in 23 years...?? You only get one chance at the most for a 20-30 year horizon and you don't know when the market is going to pull back... Dividend investing is just as risky, if not more, than trading in my opinion.
