All respect to that guy he is great welder and i'm sure when he started working for many years he worked without all those fancy tools etc.

@sporemaster97
@sporemaster97 3 ай бұрын
I keep saying on every discussion about tools that if you have the skills, you could complete the build with 1800s hand tools. Now, welding is an exception, but the point stands for everything else. Woodwork? If you can't cut with a hand saw, your skills aren't where you think they are. I'm not saying people have to use them, time saved with power tools is very important, but you should be *able* to. It's always been about the person, not the tools.

That was one of my favourite videos I’ve ever seen. I loved seeing and hearing the artist at work. There was something very meditative and beautiful about seeing the welding in the dark and hearing the stark naked sounds of fabrication. Not only was the end result a masterful work of art, the entire process looked, sounded, and felt like the most serene performance I’ve witnessed in a while…

My late dad was a coded welder and worked on Polaris Submarines his welding was to X-ray , he'd love to see the art is still alive and the technology has moved on with more safety in mind 👍back in the day they didn't have the breathing apparatus didn't have now and he succumbed to lung disease 💔 great video and a fantastic end product 👍

Purge welding? It's normal practice in pipe joining to avoid defects - though for most exhausts in normal cars you probably wouldn't bother.

that's the whole reason the welder needs gas in the first place. The argon flowing over the tip pushes out all the air for a cleaner weld. Purging the pipe does the same thing on the backside and is commonplace in the industry

For anyone wondering x pipe y pipe h pipe and 4-1 headers are all devices to help create a low pressure area in the exhaust which essentially is a vacuum pulling the exhaust out of the cylinders. On forced induction engines big diameter and straight flow out of the cylinders is what is beneficial to make more power. In natural aspiration engines these exhaust devices that create a vacuum effect are needed to make more power.
