by the way if you put a shader on your model in unity and the shading looks all blocky it's because you have to right click your mesh in object mode in blender and set it to smooth shading rather than flat before you export the fbx

I used an even easier way to assign different colored faces: in edit mode, select the faces you want to use and press u and unwrap. They'll be disjointed from the rest of the mesh the same way you did your method.

O my gosh both Mako's and Avery's avatars look great. I don't get most of the technical witchcraft that goes into crafting a Vtuber avatar but i do enjoy the show a lot. Also why do most creative people have the same exact desktop situation. Not that i mean anything bad by it. I think it's a byproduct of the creative process. Keep on keeping on. ^^

Just wanted to add that you can also import the 3d model into clip studio's 3d model program "Modeler." You can change a bunch of stuff in that program and can even have the model imported into clip studio as a 3d asset.

Hey Mako, I've been running through your tutorials and have made a pretty solid model thus far, I only have 2 questions. 1. When is the next video (no rush ;) haha) 2. What program do you actually use for vtubing and driving the model?

I remember when i used blender back in college, i hated it. Im not really good at making 3D animations or objects but you seem to be ok at it. I guess it takes practice

omg please please please (i dont wanna tell u what to include in your videos but i just spent the entire day ripping my hair out over this problem that was glossed over in every tutorial i watched but) pLEASE include exporting the model in the next tutorial! no one shows it but i didnt realize that you have to manually apply your modifiers and make sure the "apply modifiers" box was unchecked when exporting or your shape keys would just go away, and like everyone i asked about it was like "wow man thats weird idk, good luck tho" and im rabid right now

the texture video was long and a bit hard to follow. i was thinking if u wanted there is the potential to simply overlap pip over bits you want to change and add some commentary where needed and call it a new up to date tutorial since you save all of your iterations, if u wanted
