Why would the cross pieces be 43"? Wouldn't they be 45" in order to stretch the platform to the width of the plywood? The 2x4 sides are 1 1/2" thick, x 2 = 3", and 48" - 3" is 45".

Great job, just a thought though, the screws are the only thing holding the platform up, it would be good to put the legs under the platform (by rebating out etc) so that they carry the weight, not just the screws. Just something that i thought of mate, that's all.

Ok, don't go and get all funky on me, but for those who also do not know... USE GROUND CONTACT PRESSURE TREATED lumber, do not use OSB outside, and screws should not hold up the weight of itself and a load lag bolts or carriage bolts are required for loads, your fresh cut no treated lumber is termite food... tho it doesn't rain much in your area doesn't mean the moisture in the air will not destroy your lumber... especially with the cost these days... this was a great effort and a decent first go for not having the skills... I say this last 3 years tops but fails first frost... now we all know,

Nice... But in a more wet climate like FL i am thinking pressure treated 2x4s and plywood would be needed but still would work quite well

How much weight would something like this be able to hold? I like this idea for trying to build it for under my above ground pool.

Reminds me of when I used to volunteer at a youth charity. We converted a single and double decker into mobile classrooms/activity centres. I ensured the single decker was wheelchair accessible, based on my personal experience. Looking forward to what you do with yours. 👍

I think i should do this for my salon pedicure platform fot 3 seater for adults to sit when we do pedicures.

I probably would have laid the OSB in the other direction to tie in the 3 platforms.

43" cross pieces... Was that a misstatement? If you're using 4x8 OSB and 2x4s to frame them, then you only need to take out 3" to account for the 2x4s on each long edge, which would make your cross pieces 45", right? When you place the plywood on the frames it looks like a good fit, so they must have been 45"?

you don't need a square to "square up" when doing butt joints... once tightened, you can't either keep it square or prevent it from going out of square... just measure square it up with the first plywood you place down and screw down.

ok watching your video i think i am lost. my ex had told me that in order for you to lay a floor per sey that the OSB plywood would have to be at different ways encase it shifts? So if i am wanting to put down a concrete slab of 38'x 46' then have the platform sit in the middle of that do i place the OSB plywood ur way or place it where it is like crossed to prevent it from shifting?

ANYONE ELSE SEE WHAT IS THE MOST OBVIOUS DETAIL BEING MISSED IN ALL THIS ??? You Started with 2"x 4"x8' boards. Instead of Chopping them in to ( Tooth Picks ) all you really needed to do was create and Ongoing frame. 3 Times 8 feet is 16 feet - Right ? Or you could have simply gone 8 feet times two sections deep. YOU USED WAY MORE CUT PIECES THEN NEEDED !!!! 1 - end board at 8 feet. 3 - inside boards at 8 feet ( REPEAT ) 1 -sections would be 8' x 8 ' Two would be 8 Feet by 16 feet . EASY as can be - Hands down. Less lumber . More exact sizes to screw together. WIN WIN !!! YOU TOOK good ready to go Lumber off the rack . Cut it way to many times. Then added in LOT OF EXTRA STEPS TO GET THE OVER ALL SIZE IT ALL STARTED OUT TO BE IN THE FIRST PLACE. MANY LUMBER SCNETERS HAVE CUT OFF OR SCRAPS FOR SALE. THAT IS WHERE YOUR physical SUPPORT PIECES SHOULD COME FROM. ANYTHING FROM 12 INCHES TO 2 FEET WOULD MORE THEN ADD UP TO THE ITEMS YOU CUT OUT OF 8 - FOOT READY TO GO INDUSTRY STANDARD BUILINDING PRODUCTS. INSTEAD OF OVER THINKING . UNDER Cutting is the way to go here. 8 -feet by 8- feet. Needs two sheets of OSB or other similar type material. If you feel the need to cut things then how about ( CUTTING the CRAP ) from these clips. Anyone who has ever or never tried to make something Square can tell you first hand. KEEP It SIMPLE - STUPID of K.I.S.S. IF it ain't Broke - DONT Fix it . 4' by 8' is already half of a perfect square. WHY YOU DID WHAT YOU DID -GOD ONLY KNOWS! You Want to post clips, then think 3 steps ahead of those who watch your infinite - LACK OF WISDOM for doing so . In this particular case: Less Physical work, Equals better end results. Its all ready ( PRE-Cut from the Store. Then you Cut it up like your Downing timber in the middle of the arctic circle with no one else around to think it thru for you. WHY ?
