In this episode of In The Kitchen With Matt, I will show you how to make a Barbie Cake. This doll cake tutorial is fairly straightforward, but it may take some practice in order to make it look really good. Cake design is actually not really my forte, but I know enough to get the job done. This style of barbie doll cake has been around for quite some time. It isn't anything new. With a little patience, you can pull it off just like me. If I can do it, you can do it. Let's get started!

Ingredients:
2 to 3 full cake recipes (like 2 to 3 cake box mixes) plus the right amount of eggs, oil, and water to go along with it.
96 oz of white frosting (some will be used for different colors)
Food coloring
Sugar pearl sprinkles (optional)
Barbie Doll (Not really an ingredient)
Tools:
8-inch cake pans
6-inch cake pan
Plastic wrap
Piping bags (or use zip lock bags)
1M Wilton Star Tip or 2D Wilton Tip
Wilton 21 small star tip
Round Biscuit cutter
Tweezers
Parchment paper
Cake board
Cake pedestal, rotating (optional)

Looks AMAZING Matt! I bake something for my grandkids (3 Rugrats) and their mom and dad every two weeks. They take turns getting what they want. The last was a New York cheesecake with lemon meringue pie on top more or less. My youngest granddaughter (5 yrs old) wants a barbie cake in pinks of course. Thanks for sharing this! Doesn’t look as difficult as I thought. My stuff isn’t pretty normally, but it not hard to please a 5 year old twins. Wish me luck. I’ll let you know how it goes. 👍

Very nice. If you put the cake in the freezer for about 20 minutes after the coat of buttercream, it's easier to pipe on the rosettes

Hello! You are very welcome! It makes about 16 servings. Depending on the size of course. And you can save the trimmings and make cake pops with them if you wanted to go along with the cake.

Awesome!! I would definitely double it. It is super easy to make though, so you could start with 1 batch and then make a new one as needed, but you will need a lot. So I would just double it from the start.
