With the Barbie movie coming out this summer it only made sense to make a Barbie cake! I feel like there will be lots of these being made in the next few months. A Barbie cake was one of the first cakes I ever made so I thought to recreate it. And I was extra happy to donate this cake to the @saveachildsheart foundation.

Cake recipe for (1 x 5 inch, 2 x 6 inch and 1 x 8 inch tins):
750g butter
750g sugar
600g eggs
750g self raising flour / 714g plain flour with 36g baking powder
Buttercream:
300g egg whites
600g sugar
600g butter

My grandaughter is 4. Informed me I was to buy her a Barbie for Christmas. Now I found a Barbie for children. If I could make this cake with her new Barbie in it would be wonderful.

Hello Georgia, if I’m using your chocolate sponge recipe from the course, is it enough to double it for this kind of cake? You’re using two 6in tins in there but they’re meant to be quite tall so I thought double that might work? 🤔 thank you x
