A papyrophiliac is what I am-someone obsessed with paper/paper products. Over the years I would come across various pieces of paper from a calendar, a used gift bag, or even the used packaging from nail polish, and stationery, and save them for “something” later. Then I found junk journals and discovered what that “something” was. So now that gift bag I had to hold on to for 35 years has a special purpose. ☺️ Thank you, Pam, for being the one to introduce me to the JJ world. I loved today’s video! 💜💜💜

I love repurposing things. Especially if CRAFTING is involved!!! I love your channel!!! I especially like how you use "actual trash" (as if anything is REALLY TRASH!) and make beautiful things we can use, share, gift to loved ones,.....etc! And all your TRULY ORGANIC dyes from coffee, onion paper, and that blue with red cabbage!! Nothing short of AWESOME lady! I'm going to do that. Today in a video I watched, you said "wouldn't it be great if everyone started writing letters again?" OMG!! I totally agree. We need to get away from only digital communication. Get close to the written page. Write the written page! You are getting a lot of people back to our roots, working with our hands, bringing in art, writing, crafts, and music (AND I love the birds singing!!!). Remember gesso and or napkins will hide any unsavory language. You can create the belly band and then later do the ends to fit whatever page you do. Love this idea! It's genius with soooooooo many options and a simple make ahead!!! Thanks again Pam!!! 🦋🥰🐝🌼😘🐞

I got 15 books for one dollar at my thrift store. Thrones that had no prices on them....beautiful buy. Old children’s books, atlases, Mandela coloring books all like brand new. Yellow pages in some. Oh my. The illustrations are unbelievably beautiful.

I had never heard of junk journals until I was having chemo, and was so sick I just lay in bed and watched videos on my iPad. I came across yours and watched I think every one of them took awhile. Yet when I was able to get up and do something I actually made a junk journal. It was so exciting and a help to me. Thank you Pam for inspiring me. It helped me through some hard days . God bless.

Just a hint, to renew a dull boarder trimer, or sissors, or even a paper cutter...cut foil. It really works as a craft sharpener for all craft tools.

I found all of my books and goodies at Thrift Stores. You can take pages from a book and stress them or dye them. Paper is paper. File folder, envelopes, I put a basket by my trash can so I save things to put in my journals and don’t throw them out. Remember there are NO rules.

Donna Swisher I, too, live in an extremely small town 90 miles from the nearest place to shop. No thrift stores here, but we do have an extremely small library that discards books which haven’t been checked out in 10 yrs. People also donate books for the library to sell and they are cheap- .50 (paperbacks) and $1.00 (hardbacks). There is a free shelf too, and I try to put a newer book here. I buy used books from Amazon really cheap, and they don’t have to be in top condition, because I usually try to read them and then use them for their pages. eBay and Etsy have inexpensive books also. My adult children, friends, and family all know I want books, and I have scored lots this way. I have rescued discarded textbooks from schools that were going to be thrown away that will find new life in junk journals. (The secretary put a note I wrote asking for discards in the teacher’s lounge). Garage sales, even in my one-horse town, have books for sale. I guess my point is to notify everyone you know that you are in need of books, and you will be surprised at how many will come your way. Good luck!

I also live in a small town we have 1 thrift store and next town 20 miles has thrift stores. Drive 20 miles for groceries and big things so I always try to stop see what’s new..... There are on line thrift stores I do believe. Idk how they work.

Jaide Hazelwood sounds like middle of Wyoming. Seems so crazy the way of life country people live or small towns. I grew up in a big city, my grandparents lived on the farm so I fell in love with country living. I’ll take driving 20 miles for groceries then live in the city life again.... Took awhile for me to figure out the rules of the country..... Don’t wait to long to put gas in your car after the low fuel light comes on. Winter make sure to always have extra food and supplies cause you never know when the next big snow storms come along. I live by the get what I need or will need all in the same day being in town. I go into town twice a month. With Covid crap I’ve learned on line shopping. Country life isn’t convenient to say the least. Wouldn’t change anything.

I made my first one after watching this! Messy desk creativity, yes! Gotta see it to use it. You make inking look easy... my attempt was quite a bit messier. More fun ideas! I save all the stiff paper ads for a reason, they also make good impromptu dust pans! I use for bases for pages, backs for photos to use as tucks, etc. Only good they are to me. Have a great day!

Pam I really enjoy watching and listening to you. I am not sure how I came to find your channel but I definitely look forward to your posts. I happened to come across quite a few junk journal youtubers and I have found the sound of your voice to be very calming and easy listening. It's weird cause when you say Ok... it is a believable and welcome to hear term. Can't say that is true for everyone I've watched on youtube. Not sure if other people can relate. But throwing that out there all the same.

heard you talk about punches getting dull- I punch mine through wax paper when they get dull, might also try fine sandpaper to clean off the edges of the punches
