How To Make a Big Stencil Tutorial

Wild to think today marks 10 years since I made my first project on this channel. Felt it was only fitting to make a big stencil tutorial once again. In this tutorial I will teach the tools needed to cut a large stencil design without any special equipment.
The supplies you will need are:
- X-acto Blade
- Cutting Mat
- Printer
- Design or drawing
- Spray Paint
- Paper or Poster to cut stencil on
Optional:
- Spray adhesive
- General purpose glue
- Posters
- Shirt
- Stickers

Change your print settings to 'Full Bleed' to get rid of the boarders - not sure how to change the orientation but like the vid

The Mesh technique is genius! Do you use any specific type of mesh or is it pretty much the same which one you choose? Going for a large stencil soon, and this will be a lifesaver

It’s pretty standard from what I have seen, just look for the screen door replacement

what's the simplest easiest way of making 1 or 2 metre high letter stencils? Also would using stencils and waterproof paint onto a giant tarp be a viable cheaper solution than paying hundreds of pounds for a formal PVC banner?

I would suggest thin poster board for cutting the stencil. I have not had great success with tarp material because paint does not adhere great and tends to crack off. Definitely test it out before doing the whole thing

I know this is old, but would screen printing mesh work in place of the screen door mesh?

Might be a little too tightly woven. I’d think after a few sprays it might clog up. Worth experimenting of course

This is basically a paper version of creating a silk screen... Have you considered printing on transparency and just making a large silk screen with emulsion fluid?

im definetly doing this i tried making a stencil with just cardstock and i had to leave white bits for the island also i didnt create the art and im thinking of making the artwork myself its just im not very good
