How to Make the popular Whiskey Cocktail, the Manhattan two different ways.

Like many classic cocktails, the Manhattan's history is a bit unsure. Popular history suggests that the cocktail was invented at the Manhattan Club in New York around the 1870's.
This is one of the most popular cocktails on the plate, and a must-know for any whiskey fans! In this video, I talk about how to make and master the classic version of the Manhattan, but I also show you how to make the less-known Perfect Manhattan.
While the classic Manhattan leans towards a sweet-tasting cocktail, the perfect manhattan attempts to be more balanced with dry notes added to it through vermouth and lemon zest.
One important note on making the Manhattan is to take note on the type of vermouth you are using in your cocktail. In order to not overpower any flavor in the drink, if you have strong tasting vermouth try pairing it with an over-proofed whiskey (100 proof or higher). This goes for lighter tasting vermouths as well, it would be best to pair them with a lighter proof whiskey around 70-80 proof.

Classic Manhattan recipe:
⚈ 2oz (60 ml) Whiskey
⚈ 1oz (30ml) Sweet Vermouth
⚈ 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
1) Add Ingredients into your mixing glass, then Add ice.
2) Stir your cocktail for about 30 Seconds
3) Strain drink into coupe or martini glass
4) Garnish with a cherry or orange peel
