Oh, so you want two roles - unverified and verified. Yes, it is very much possible, Salty, but here's a suggestion - Discord already has a default unverified role, it's called everyone role. So don't through hard work of creating a new role just for that because if someone gets a role after they joined, Discord automod would stop working

Use without the symbols. The symbols were only used to highlight the word. However, || symbol will hide your word
