In this video, purchasing a picture frame TV can be costly, but building your own frame for an existing TV is both easy and inexpensive.

With unlimited molding styles to choose from at your local home center or lumberyard, the frame's look can quickly become a cohesive addition to any décor. I chose the modern look of a 1x2 board with a delicate inset cove molding to match the look of the built-in shelving around my TV and finished it with gold spray paint to complete a custom-built frame for my TV.
Materials:
(2) 1x2x8’ boards
(2) 3/8”x3/8”x4’ cove molding [amzn.to/3xk8Bqt]

Not all TVs use IR. If your tv does use IR drill a hole for the sensor.

@@Navy1977 some use Bluetooth, some even use WiFi- neither need a clear view of a sensor.

Why is there still no security scans for busses or trains? Even for long distance train rides, I can arrive a minute before the train pulls in and bring my bike and backpack aboard. This often makes train trips faster than the same trip by plane, door-to-door.

Now you just trapped the heat in the back and the TV will burn out prematurely.

@@Navy1977 - literally anywhere else… even in front of the fireplace would be better, if you live in a climate that doesn’t necessitate a fireplace. and putting it on a stand on a TV console table is much better than mounting, in living rooms or dedicated media rooms 👍

I cannot stand house hunting and seeing the room setup for tv above fireplace. Instant no go.

@@webberfan1234 - I think ideally it would be better to have two smaller “living” rooms… one as a sitting area/drawing room-type thing, and then a separate TV room, rather than one large “great room.” or if the house is too small, as is likely, the floor plan would allow the TV to be placed against a wall, with the fireplace at 90° to the TV, with furniture arranged so that they can easily address both 🤙
