You can learn more at ExNube.com In this video a 1/2 lb graphite composite is created with a copper current collector cast inside. The multistage polymer reaction is set in motion using only water. This video covers the basics and other videos found at ExNube.com show how the composites can be modified to enhance properties and to create a layered composite that is very easy to repair and maintain.

what was the resistance of the rods like? What is the mix graphite, water and?

Here is a mix I found on the internet. Raw materials such as petroleum coke, needle coke and coal tar pitch account for 66.88% of the cost of graphite electrode. Low-sulfur petroleum coke, coal-based needle coke functions as aggregate, coal-based asphalt works as binder. The graphite electrode is made of petroleum coke, needle coke, etc., and coal tar pitch is used as a binder. It is manufactured with 11 steps, that is crushed, compounded, mixed, pressed, calcined, impregnated, second baked, graphitized, machined, quality tested.

@@bobaom it may also be made by sintering, relying on temperature vs expansion, its put into a mold and heated, then let cool down- cant remember if it expands or retracts when heating up. annealing. this is how true graphite electrodes are made

MY THOUGHT EXACTLY. THIS HAS BAD INTRO... LAME. THE MIX MUST BE TRAIL MIX... OR THE MIX IS JUST THE MIX, THEN HE 'HOLDS HIS BREATH' TO PREVENT INHALING POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INTO HIS LUNGS. HE MIGHT CONSIDER A FILTER ON HIS FACE SO THE MIX DOESNT SCARE HIS LUNGS. I GIVE HIM A %50 CHANCE THAT HE WILL BLOW HIMSELF UP USING THE WRONG MIXXXXX BECAUSE HE WAS SNEEZING FROM IN HALING PARTICULATE MATTER AND COATING THE MILLIONS OF AVIOLI IN HIS LUNGS. THE BOY SCOUT WHO BUILT A NUCLEAR REACTOR HAD BETTER SAFETY MEASURES...

The salt on this comment section is real... By the way, a mixture of clay and powder graphite would be very interesting for a heating element (don't anybody bother patenting this, it has been patented in the early XX century...), but for the do-it-yourself home-made guy, this would be interesting for heating crucibles for iron or copper melting.

Thanks for the idea. Heating elements and controler is a bitch to finde where I am in Africa. So easyer making a element producing the temperatur I need

@@Gaark haven't made this kind yet the last 2 times I have just used gas and put the burner in a distance where I have achieved the desired temperature.
