Wow this tutorial is much easier than the one I used to make a hanging tea towel last week. I love EASY! And yours is just as beautiful. I was kind of dreading making another one but after seeing your version I'm excited to make more. Thank you for "EASY."

I love that fabric you used with the tea towel. My towels are much smaller than the one you used, so I will adjust the measurements accordingly. Thank you so much for sharing this idea.

One thing that would really help would be to add a list of materials needed and the dimensions that need to be cut.

I agree that Cecilia did not clearly explain each step, and this is particularly important for beginners like me. I had to use her tutorial for the things that I liked (the way that she added the bottom border, fro example) and the Notches tutorial, for the more organized way that she explained each step. I could not have been successful without using both tutorials. Thanks, Cecilia, for your version. I like parts of it better!

She did excellent job of showing how to do each step and all the measurements, I made some right after her you tube video and sold several of them.

I would love to see you make the fabric “safe”. It has a zipper and you hang it in your closet to hide valuables.

I serged it and used a quarter inch hem. If you don't have a serger, the turn it twice and hem.

i really like this design, although i think with the size of the towel and the added fabric it makes it almost too long and would drag on the floor. however that can easily be adjusted for, and if i were selling them i would make them both sizes for those that have higher set ovens. For those saying your directions were hard to follow, pshhht, i found them very clear and to the point. and i understood them just fine. The thing i like the most about this design is that it is so easily adjustable. the width of the bottom ruffle. which i do think needs to be finished with some kind of hem or at the very least trimmed up with some pinking shears so that it doesn't start to fray. especially since most people will be using scraps when making this and cutting on or against the bias will be the least of their concerns. personally i will probably just trim it with the shears. It's quicker & easier and with a little ruffle or small pleats it will look so cute.

You didn’t show the how you finished the edge of the bottom of the towel.

I loved this video but this tutorial is missing important info to the user. I understand the embroidery on your tea towel is offset but you presented this video in a way that the embroidery is an option. For those of us who chose not to embroidery were left in the dark as to how to properly make the fold as you say, "...such that if you have embroidery it's going to be on the midpoint, if you have no embroidery it doesn't really matter...". It does matter because this isn't enough information to know how to create the fold and put the tea towel top piece together properly. I really struggled with this part and I am sure many other users have also. Someone mentioned a place where you show the full process but there was not enough information to locate it.

The tea-towel should be folded at mid-point. Please see the final step from 7.20 mins. I mentioned that since I had not centralised my embroidery, I had to adjust the tea-towel accordingly. If you don't have embroidery then fold the tea-towel at the midpoint.

Very pretty but the instructions aren't very clear. Even with the embroidery off center, you really should try to show how you are actually attaching the bottom of the towel. Your instructions were fairly good up to that point. So confused how you are folding this without it looking horrible. I'm sure it has a lot to do with my abilities to sew.

my apologies if my instructions on the folding was not clear to you.
@marytramp5678

i thought it was very clear. She stated that if your embroidery or whatever was NOT centered then you just needed to fold it in such a way tha it would equal 6" keeping the thing you want in the center. which means you have to have your folds not be perfectly even. one sides fold may be 4' while the other side's fold may be 6" to keep the piece you want in the cener, for example. Nobody would ever notice such a small detail though. Now if the embroidery or what ever is completely to the right of left, i don't know what you could do. well i do, but it would be a pain in the arse.
