Hi, I’ve been making leather leashes for years. Use to live in Calif🤮. Live in Oregon now and my life has changed quite a bit from training dogs to becoming a woke up Constitutionist. I now have a CHL and interested in making a leather holster for myself and if I get good enough maybe for others. You did a great job in your presentation. Easy and simplistic. You couldn’t have explained any better than that. Thanks

Thanks for sharing that. I am just getting into some leather crafting. Already did a few sheaths and just did a holster for my Ruger LCP380. I believe it is called a Yaqui holster, it mainly covers the trigger guard area. The barrel and grip both stick out and I made it with two slots to feed your belt thru. I like this idea you have and especially for an IWB type holster. I may borrow your pattern!! Again thanks. Juddie - J & J TOA

Great explanation in to details and reasons. I know everyone has there different ways. I’m just now getting supplies together as no one makes a configuration of the Glock 47 with a inforce wild 2 light at the moment. So I’m going to make the plunge and try to do it myself in kydex form first.

Im a leather worker. In case you see this and haven't found out yet. When making a paper pattern and marking out the stitch line. Do half thickness of gun or magazine + the thickness of the leather. For the most snug non molded fit but able to actually get gun inside of it to mold it. Your way works fine as well. Was just saying this if you experiment on other things like wallets or anything. U won't have to guess the stitch lines on new or 1 off projects in the future when ur not sure of stitch placement from trial and error.

Nicely done and easy to understand instructions. Would you line the inside with sheep skin or something soft?
@xdshooter17 жыл бұрын
Texas S yes you can line them. I have in the past. Thank you for watching.

xdshooter1 .... what would I do to prevent sheep skin form crumpling up on the inside and getting a bit torn up? Being new to guns and holster building I figure the gun should rest on something softer.
@xdshooter17 жыл бұрын
Texas S I would recommend applying barge cement to both peices of leather. In my experience very thin layer works better , if you use much it seems to seep into thin leather. I also find if you bevel the edge there is less chance of the gun pulling it away from the thicker leather. I hope that makes sense.

@@xdshooter1 I had an incident happen on Friday morning while pushing the baby at the park no less, which made me realize my pistol does nothing for me in the safety of my car. I found several holster tutorials and am an avid seamstress, but the idea of creating something that needs to work flawlessly every time seemed a bit daunting. This was a good walkthrough and makes the task at hand seem a bit easier. This is an old video but assuredly, it's the gift that keeps on giving, so thank you!!
