Well, since you are asking.......I have been wanting to bring this up for a while now so here goes. Faux Homemade Paper. Have you seen it yet? It looks amazing and I've been saving up stuff like my silk threads so when I make some glue I can try my hand at this faux paper thing, but...... I would LOVE to see what you would do with it. I think it's "Treasure Books" that has the video on how to make it, but I wouldn't be quoting me on it if I were you. Haha. Anywho, hope you try it . It looks like a lot of fun. And I hope you have a beautiful day today and every day. 🤗

Hi Elizabeth, thanks, I had not yet heard of this. I will check it out :) I have made paper from scratch before from junk mail soaked, pulped, blended in a blender then couched etc. Very fun process! I made so much I still have lots from...about 10 years ago! Thanks :)

I made a nice hot cup of Earl Grey ☕️ and thought the perfect way to start the day would to hang out with Pam and learn how to make another great paper “something”. I love all things steam punk... Pam you are wonderful. Thank you for all you do. 🙏🏻💐❤️. I am watching and learning and have ordered quite a few items from your Amazon store...I love the use of your tea towel for the inside cover. I have old stained cotton tea towels which i will use. Thank you for that idea.

I love the colors it was before adding the gesso. I should be able to use clear gesso and keep those colors. It also would not require painting. Probably add an extra gesso layer to allow for the extra coverage the paint would have given it. After all, it is only paper! I wonder what smart person said that? 😀

So far so good. I had wondered about the fabric you used so I peeked at comments & replies and found I was correct in my thinking it was the flour sack tea towel from Walmart I bought them when out church ladies had a night at the home of one of them who does embroidery with a machine...oh my she did some really cute ones. We got to pick our subjects from her many patterns. I love the fabric, so this is great..I only used one of the two I bought so guess what I'm going to use it on... yeah....Thank you for all your great inspirational ideas. Now I have to continue on with the next videos. TTFN... Ta ta for now! 🥰. You too Mr. Fluffy Pants. Don't chew mom's flip flops. 🤪❤️

Oh hey, if you want to clean up that brush a bit, soak it in vinegar. It does wonders. Some say to use hot vinegar so I gave that a try , but I couldn't see that it did any better than just plopping brushes into it at room temp. I'd like to say it works on everything but that might be exaggerating just a wee tiny bit.... maybe. My mom painted with oils and acrylics and wasn't very good at cleaning her brushes so when I got them some were hard as rocks but I couldn't throw them away. When I heard about the vinegar thing, years later, I gave it a try and to my great surprise they are ,now, usable. I paint with watercolors and am TRYING to paint with acrylics AND I have a grandaughter. The vinegar treatment works on those brushes too, including the mystery goo brush...... for the most part. Grandchildren. Testing the limits of cleaning supplies and patience since the beginning of time. Gotta love the little monsters 😄💜

Hi there! I have a very basic and easy set up. I use a desk arm to hold my Samsung S10+ overhead and I use a ring light that shines down on my desk and I use a lapel mic. You can see all these items in my amazon store...scroll all the way to the bottom! :) www.amazon.com/shop/thepaperoutpost The desk arm just pushes easily out of the way when I am done filming. I like the samsung phone because the video recorder on it has a pause button and apparently the apple iphone does not. I would film it, but I can't use my phone to film it because I am filming with my phone ;) LOL Hope this helps!

Hi Yvonne! Sure! My film set-up is very low tech! :) I just film with my phone. Its a Samsung S10+ android phone. I place my phone on an arm that attaches to my desk allowing me to shoot down at the table. ($20-$30 on ebay) and I use a clip-on lapel microphone: amzn.to/2uqXfke. I know if I am out of frame if I look at my phone. It is a bit above my head so I have to stretch my neck up to look down at my phone to see if I am in frame. If only my neck was 6 inches longer ! LOL. Hope this helps! :)

@@ThePaperOutpost Thanks very much for the quick reply, it sure helps. So you don't switch your phone camera to selphi mode? You film like you would normally would if you film like your garden or something.

Hi Pam! I'm now watching your videos daily! Love the things you do! I was wondering do we have to use gesso? ( I could make some. However, I was thinking of gluing down pretty papers and maybe covering it in mod podge. But I didnt know if one the gesso made it stronger or if that was just to help the paint take better?
@ThePaperOutpost
@ThePaperOutpost 4 жыл бұрын
Gesso is not mandatory, its only thick white paint but you can create the cover with mod podge or however you like! :) The world is your oyster! :)The mod podge will add sturdiness too! :) I used gesso to even the tomes out for a solid base color and also to tack down the little fly away edges of paper :)

Never thought of doing the fabric on the inside...Nice! Instead of the Yes paste or the spray, what about Fabri-Tac? Would that create any problems?

Hi! Fabritac will work great! I would smear it with a card or finger to get it to lay a bit flatter so there are no bumpies under your fabric. :)

Good mornin, when you brought out the mod podge and the sponge I thought it was your lunch and the sponge was a lemon. I'm like why is Pam bringing out a lemon? Oh no coffee yet so I'm still groggy. Lol what do we use if we have no stuff in the jar? And I cant afford Gesso. Well I will still watch the series in hope I will get some one day. Lifes a lemon for me right now so I have to be frugal. I only have mod podge and quick drying sleeves heavy turbo glue....could I use that maybe? Man i want to make this so much Pam. It's so fun

Hi Marlene! Gesso is not required, just an option :) You can make the cover out of any envelopes or even a thick paper bag and decorate as you like! You can use pictures from magazines or draw on the cover instead of using gesso:)
