Looking forward to part 4. Your instructions are easy to follow , yet precise. I'm glad you mentioned how to preheat the quench oil. The grinding and sanding of the blade really impressed me. Great job. Thanks.

I really like your style and approach to the education side of things - especially when talking about alternative options; they way you present encourages thinking about thinking, which in turn encourages independent solution-making and problem-solving skills. Your shop is also very simple compared to a lot of yubtubbers; this is not an insult. I see so many people who say, "I'll just step over to this $23k piece of equipment and have this done lickity-split," it is very discouraging to me to see in real time how out of reach those things are for me. When I look at your setup, it not only shows how things can be assembled and expanded over time, but also that quality and craftsmanship don't necessarily have anything to do with equipment. It's heartening to walk away with confidence that, "yeah, I can do this with what I have." How do we get you a signal boost.

does this heat treat process only apply to 1095 or can this be done with 80CRV2
@Aleeknives
@Aleeknives Жыл бұрын
Simple high carbon steels. 10xx steels. With 1095 being at the harder to heat treat side of the scale. I would start with 1075
