In this cold process soap making tutorial, I take you step by step through how to make this landscape soap.
This is the second of two videos for this soap. This video goes through in detail how to adapt the scraper templates and your recipe for your own particular mold. The first video, which you'll find here • How to make a LANDSCAP... shows how you to make the soap, and I clearly explain each step so you can follow and make your own

Disclaimer
Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

And I really can't believe that there is someone out there that is kind and thoughtful enough to share their process with the world! This was very eye opening and I am very appreciative of the time, effort, and money you put into making these videos, thank you!

HI it doesn't matter too much as the design will work in a tall and skinny mould too, but if you wanted to use the dividers and templates I have made it would need to be a mould that's at least as wide as it is tall

Hey, Thank you very much for this video and the sheets! I'm quite new to soap making and I always thought that I would never do a landscape soap, because of this whole calculation thing (not my strength). Now I'm actually thinking, I could do this! So thank you! Now, my question: could you maybe do a Video showing us on how you make such a excel calculation list for a new recipe? That would be grand! Thank you again and greetings from Switzerland!

I'm so pleased you liked the video and found it useful. I think the only problem with just doing a video about making a spreadsheet is that it would move completely away from soap making and just turn in to a spreadsheet lesson, which people wouldn't be very keen on. I do in some other videos go over how I decide on how much soap I need for each part of a design, I don't know if that's any help. My wave soap goes through the calculations if you fancied taking a look at that. Best wishes, Lisa

Hi Lisa, I finally sat down and watched both videos. I am so happy I did because you have inspire me to try this amazing landscape. I feel that I will be able to do it! One question, in your calculations, how do you know how much oil and lye solutions to mix for each part of the picture? Like how much should I account doe the pics, how much should I account doe the green grass… etc. Is there a logic I need to apply to consider this on this designs and any other one I could make? Thank you again for your kindness. Much appreciated!

Hi Karolyn, I'm afraid that's one thing I would rather not just give out to people, I hope you don't mind. I don't feel this technique needs any specific recipe and most should work well. I really hate having to say no as I love to share so many things and always try to give you guys as much as I can, but I spent a lot of time and money trying different oils etc until I was happy, so that's not really something (as in common with a lot of soapers) that I just want to give away.
