Late to the party (as usual) but this is an extremely well done video. It's so simple that looking at the first minute told me everything I needed to know, but I watched all the way to the end because it was so well done. No chit-chat, not off-topic remarks, steady camera... Well done! Oh, and the effect is great. I especially like the jig for bending the aluminum strip -- the UHMW plastic discs are genius.

Have used this design for a uni project involving ws2812b, the stand is bigger due to all the components I had to put under it. It's not difficult to make you can cut some wood and just glue it to make the area where you want to put in the mirrors. Thank you for the help, as this helps to remove the glass very easy, for transportation.

Had a crazy thought with these infinity mirrors. What if you built a circular one, where the distance of the spacer where the light sits, is narrow on one side, and wider of the other side (hard to explain it correctly) -so you can put a small engine on it to turn it slowly. That way you get the effect without having to move from side to side yourself. Depending on the speed of the turning, it could be a fun effect to play with, uneven spacing too.

Would the LEDs get too hot if the box was totally enclosed? This looks nice, but I was thinking if I made one I would want to add some black side walls and a top, so that dust wouldn't get into the middle of it.
@MyBigThing2010
@MyBigThing2010 7 жыл бұрын
CountYulith just drill 3 small holes on the top and bottom of each side panel of your frame...heat will naturally rise out of the top ones drawing in cool air from the bottom....either way it'll need dusting/cleaning at some point...I wouldn't completely seal it it up right with silicone or wood glue if ya get my drift

CountYulith the heat produced by LED's is so negligible it's not worth worrying about. When on full brightness you could hold your finger on it indefinitely and it wouldn't get burnt. But it would not be that "dark" then. even if it would work with both sides. what i wonder is why there are inside and outside led tapes. would it just be enough with the inner circle.

SawManga The outside LEDs makes it a brighter lamp. Mostly the inner LEDs are used for the illusion.
