The design is simple but looks amazing and it's a great guide to follow. I'll be building this myself sometime soon, thank you very much.

I was sad when you cut the tenons smooth to the frame, they gave it character. Nice job!

"...was sad when you cut the tenons smooth to the frame..." From a joint that looked proportionally awkward, yet reasonably cut; and then to one transformed to a poor looking joint, having been cut with a blunt chisel. The merits of using a chisel close to width size to the mortise does help tremendously. Ah well, there is always a second or third or fourth attempt in the future.

thank you for sharing a great design. Can I please ask what is the reason the side board tenons are off center like that, what is the benefit?

If you aren't very good with a chisel is there another way to create these awesome joints?
@Bashirbros3 жыл бұрын
as far as I know, the only other way would be with power tools. but even then, a chisel is generally more accurate. you should look up some videos and read some articles about how to use a chisel and practice with it. make small boxes and angles. you'll get good in a matter of time. i would highly recommend you watch "matt estlea mortise and tenon" he has made videos about multiple joints and the pros and cons of each. good luck my friend

I think I can do this!! I'm wondering how you allow for expansion and contraction within that joint system. And was this pine?

Any chance you can share the plans again? It looks the dropbox file was deleted.

What is the locking pin for?

Great Job! Are those measurements correct? Isn't a queen 60" wide and the cut outs for the mortise and tenon seem to be missing a few dimensions. Any help would be great.
