You do need to match impedance for a 1/4" jack, otherwise you're creating a natural hi pass filter at about 200hz. You need a preamp, cloudlifter, or buffer circuit of some sort, otherwise your sound will be lacking bass.

Never knew that, it did sound like the bass was cut.

@@fortheloveofnoise I'm not at my computer rn to link them, but there are a bunch of DIY wiring guides to do them in-line too. There's also a few people who do kits.

The reason for lack of bass is the piezo crystal needs 4meg impedance. Old tape machines, that came with crystal microphones had this impedance. Most modern devices have an input impedance of much less than one Meg. If the frequency range bothers you, you can find contact mic preamp £40-£200. There's diy projects online, to build your own. I use some of the older guitar pedals that have an input buffer and an impedance of 1meg. Connect it online, power it up , but don't turn it on ( unless you want to use the effect ). It will give a bit more bass, but ideally you need 4 Meg.

Thank you!!!!...yeah I could manage this! Oh and screw thread was the words lol..would you suggest spring on outside or in the box?

Everything on the outside would be easier to play.

I am always taken aback by people who spend time and energy showing nothing and explaining nothing in a shitty video. Would you care to explain that ?
