I am 73 years old and you are keeping my mind active. Learned sooo much from inlay and pizza peel videos. Play the parts over and over and attempt to recreate on test pieces. I like your style - particularly when you don't get to the point until you explain why you do it! Yes, I am emerging into an advanced beginner. The ability to stop, try, rewind at my own pace is better than classroom learning where my questions often slow down the pace/experience for the others. Yes, I will emerge as an advanced beginner because I try to internalize your tips and tricks. You are so thorough! I think I will be able to fly after this.

Great video as always. I have been learning vcarve pro and I would like to accelerate my learning. I know you cover all in your videos. Do you have a sequence of videos from beginning to advance so I can eliminate the searching? If you have that would be great.

Excellent video on how to design and make the pizza peel. My biggest fear before buying a machine is how much designer and art skills are required to be able to layout a project.

edhartunian1413, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Don't worry too much about designer skills - there are plenty of software options that make it easier to design projects, and you can always start with simpler designs as you build your skills. Just practice and have fun with it!

We could have watched a movie on this Friday night, but my wife who wants to learn to use VCarve Pro agreed to watch this one with me. There was a number of functions I hadn't learned despite watching dozens of your videos over the past 8-9 months, so you helped level my design skills up again! It appears I'll soon be making my third bit order from north of the border... almost in so many months - off I go to make a few other things to sell to raise a few bucks for these three bits I don't have yet! ...which is not a bad thing. People often ask "what should I buy when starting" or "what should I buy next" - as it also applies to other types of shop tools, what you NEED for a given project. Buy as you go. So I know I'll likely have a few more orders to go as I approach the end of my first year of CNCing, but you can't and shouldn't go from 5mph to 60mph overnight! Keep up the great work Garrett - even the kitten got transfixed on following your mouse cursor for 5 minutes at one point! 😂

Michael, I love that you all watched it together that's awesome! You have youself some keepers my friend! I'm glad it was helpful. There's so many functions on Vcarve that I learn something new everyday too! I couldn't agree with you more, I think the busy as you go method is really the best. Otherwise, you end up with a stock pile of bits you have never touched if you buy them all at the beginning! Keep up the good work!

Thanks' Garrett for sending me this video, I'm 78 years young and a new beginner to CNC. The video was very good explaining how to use the software and cutting out the pizza peel. My wife is ready to start using the pizza peel as soon as I make it. I will play the video again and make a step by step written procedure on the computer as to how you made the pizza peel. I will be ordering the bits needed for this project from your website soon. I am looking forward to playing your other videos you have in the future.

Much more than just a Pizza Peel tutorial. I've gained knowledge of VCarve that can be applied to many other projects. Thank you Garrett for another superb tutorial. I've yet to purchase my CNC machine, but I'm convinced that after extensive research that the LongMill MK2 48x30 is the way to go. I've been immersing myself in your tutorials to get a solid foundation on project design in VCarve Pro before I make the purchase. Thanks again. - Nick

Cablsurfin, you are so welcome my friend! I am excited for you to jump into CNC so you can start creating. I was wondering if you could do me a favor, if you can use my link when you buy your longmill. It gives me a little pocket change. Thanks! Here's the link, if you decide to use it: sienci.com/product/longmill-mk2/?ref=IDCWOODCRAFT

Thanks Garrett. A well executed tutorial with a lot of tips. For material this large, I have gone to using contact paper with CA glue. It works just as well with less chance of gluing your stock to your spoilboard (DAMHIK). Steve

ExtremeWoodworker, appreciate the kind words! That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that tip. I'll have to try it out. I agree, no one likes getting CA glue stuck to their stock.

This Pizza one showed me several things that I can even use on a couple of other projects I'm trying to do as well as the idea of making one of these for my Brother in law. He just got a Pizza oven and has regular pizza parties, and I will be making one with his name on the handle. Thanks for all you do!

Totally worth watching, learned techniques, tips and tricks and not least shortcuts. I'm a beginner and I haven't finished to install my machine yet. I came across IDC when I was looking for bits, not quite sure what I was looking for, but after a look at the IDC website and advice from Garrett contained therein, it's all clearing up and I'm looking for fewer bits than I thought.

@@IDCWoodcraft Living up here in Canada makes purchasing your bits very expensive. The last bit I purchased from you was a 1/4 inch rounding bit and by the tjme i included shipping and the US to CAD money the 31 dollar bit cost me 90 bucks. Is there any options on other shipping methods? I say this because I would love to make this project but I require the 150 degree V Bit. One day I may have the bucks to purchase it. LOL

Garrett, amsteelle "overlord" here as you like to call it.... LOL 😂 Great video! Very helpful actually. I was most recently thinking about how you would do chamfers/ tapers on a project or anything in general and this actually does help a lot and will giving this a try in the future. Also I will ad that although your videos are quit long, they are very helpful! I say this because others just fly through "how to" videos, they dont fully explain "WHY" you SHOULD and SHOULDNT be doing something specifically and the reason why or why not, and this is very helpful. It's hard to learn this software when you dont know the reason why or why not to use lets say a specific tool or arrange something in a specific way to get the turn out you are looking for! So far Ive been coming to your channel whenever I need to figure something out and has been helpful in in just about all cases but are still learning the software. Thanks and keep posting
