How to make a rain chamber for your frogs!

Hi Luke, Just wondering if you had any success with breeding the frogs in the rain chamber, and is there a follow up video we could watch. Loving the content mate.

Unfortunately I didn’t have any success. I’m wondering if building a bigger version would better my chances so I can also include a small land portion. I think in future I’ll pick my timing a bit better as well and put them outside during summer rain storms so they really feel the air pressure change. I might do a follow up next season!

I’m here in 2024, any success yet? Did you need to make alterations? Also, where did you get the Tupperware with those indents for the water to flow down?

To be honest I didn’t have success but I think that could have been due to my timing more than anything. I’m going to be trying this again in the future with the same kind of rain chamber. All the containers came from Woolworths and I believe are a brand called sistema.

Hi, I'd like to know when is the best time to breeding frogs like Pixie & Pacman or other frogs..april..june...july? And for how long should they stay in a rainchamber a few hours or maybe one day..day and night? Please let me know 👍🐸

I can’t say I no much about those species sorry. We aren’t allowed to keep them in Australia. Our frogs breed all different times of the year here.

As far as time in the chamber goes, it can vary but I was using overnight as a rough time frame.

So do we need to give them a dry period and then take em to the rain chamber

Depends on the species but that tends to be the consensus for a lot of frogs. Good rain often triggers them.

Interesting. I’m not too familiar with frogs. I have a giant day gecko. I really like living vivariums and paludariums that have water features

Most fish shops in Australia should stock them or be able to get them in. Or eBay. They are called “aqua one mini 300f”. Hope that helps.

I got amplexus from the crinia but no spawn. The phyllachroa weren’t interested in the chamber at all so I may have better luck heavily misting their enclosure.
