Cada um com uma técnica diferente na fabricação de seus arcos mas perfeitas parabéns tenho acompanhado vários canais de arquearia visto os ensinamentos quem sabe não arrisco a fazer meu próprio arco kkkkk só não garanto que vai ficar perfeito como o seu mas se der para brincar ja ta ótimo kkkkk bom trabalho amigo.

Brilliant. I want to try making a new bow now. Nothing as complicated as yours… yet. I gave up bow hunting archery with a compound bow and IFFA target archery 27 years ago when I left home for work. My bow sat at my parents and then sat in my garage and I’ve been thinking about it for a decade. Shame job I know! Anyway I just pulled it out of the shed and the Easton ACC arrows are perfect! All 2 dozen, heaps but Freestyle unlimited means chopped arrows. I was just a bit more than happy. My bow as ahh, less than stellar. The steel cables are broken? WTF really! The string is fine or looks fine. I wasn’t going to draw it but yeiks. My hip quiver that I made out of long wool sheep skin with the wool on the inside to stop the arrows rattling just needed some of that leather grease made from rendered down sheep, can’t think of its name but everything leather loves it. So that’s great as well. In Brisbane Australia I was a member at Grange Bowhunters a club. I met a guy and everyone thought he was crazy that he regressed in bows when ‘EVERYONE’ knows that the future of archery is tech tech tech! More expensive and frivolous the better. Sure I had a stabiliser and a 4x scope and peep but hey freestyle unlimited. In my parents back yard I shot thousands of arrows from a really short limbed little bow that couldn’t be cranked past 40 pounds and it was a compound bow. I could and did shoot that all day at home. I’d stripped it and stripped the riser and painted it in a cherry red car paint, acrylic considering the year, and more coats of clear coat than was reasonable. Anyway I was chatting to the so called crazy guy at the practice butts and was intrigued that everything he was shooting, he had made. Even the blunt points which he cut from steel rod filed the point and drilled the back out and then taper drilled the back into a cone hole to glue the shafts on using a pine tar resin glue that he made. Horn inset nocks and all. I’m pretty sure the fletching was white sulphur crested cockatoo feathers that a friend of his had as pets. I want to say that the shafts were ash? Maybe? Defiantly not pine he said as to get a decent spine. They ended up being like telephone poles. So now the timber… it’s Australia so beer and I went to his place and his shed was magnificent and way neater and cleaner than any of my sheds ever. I’m a huge fan of timber and the first timber thing I made was at 4 yo when I assembled a balsa glider by sliding the wing and tail into the fuselage and sticking the plastic weight on the nose with a nominal free spinning propellor. Hooked to this day, aviation and wood work (you craft and build with timber and you burn wood to smell it as you cook a steak over the top on a grill) So he was making self bows basically British long bows I suppose. He would make and sell straight off the tree stave bows and also laminated different to bees to make it look great and still get the differing hardness across the stave by using different hardness and thickness timber laminates to construct a stave. They were works of art. The arrows shafts were what really interested me. He was telling me how ‘back in the day’ the shafts were very rarely parallel sided shafts. Apparently due to the shaft length, bow draw weights and heavy broardheads the shaft weight would be ridiculous since the bending happens at the middle and reduces towards the ends. So since his points weren’t as heavy as ones used in battle he didn’t need the thickest shaft at the front so made his barrel shaped, thicker in the middle. He purchased the possibly ash boards from a timber shop and cut long square sections out length wise. Then he had many many planing jigs. With groves to match the opposite side of the arrow at that stage. So first plane the barrel shape to the spears shaft, 2 jigs. Then another 2 jigs to plane it into an octagonal section. Then 2 jigs to get 16 sides of the barrel. Then he did a spine test and if it wasn’t between 2 values he would just throw it into 150mm PVC pipe to sell to people that wanted different spines. Then it was hand sanded, cut to perfect length with the thickest barrel diameter right in the centre. Spine tested again and sanded to perfect spine while making sure the shaft bent uniformly when deflected. Arrow has horn inset nocked and nock end rounded. Point end was cut to a blunt cone with a cool home made 3 blade ‘pencil sharpener type thing. The arrow was then sharply pushed into the 3 blades HARD 3 times so there was 9 cuts on the cone end about evenly spaced. This was to allow excess pine tar resin glue to be able to be squeezed out. Glue on the point. Put in the fletching jig. Split the full feathers length wise and cut the fletch to length and trim to shape if you have to. Glue fletching on. Wire wrap with really thin copper wire. Buff arrow with bees wax to limit its ability to absorb humidity and stop dirty finger prints around the nock. It’s was a work of art. I just couldn’t believe the amount of work needed to and number of steps it takes to make an arrow. The British made millions. So yeah. I’m keen to have a go at a bow. Start with the bow, 28 1/4 inch draw but my target arrow rest had a 1 1/2 or 2 inch overdraw so maybe a 30 inch draw. Nothing serious, para cord string just so I can draw it and use a para cord tie string so I can draw it at a distance. Just to see if it will bend evenly or just break… curious. Thanks for the kick in the ass to have a go!
