Tricia Fitzpatrick oh wow I’ve never seen resin darken sand that much, where was the sand from?! Was it a fairly dark sand to start with? Resin should’ve really only made it look wet, not altered the color that much

@@abstractboss Hi, thank you so much for your response. I live right on the beach on a little Island called the Isle of Man. It's situated between England and Ireland in the Irish Sea. I'm a newbie but collected all the sea glass before our weather changed...snow today. The sand was yellow but not dark and after mixing with the resin and spreading on the glass it was the darkest brown, even after two days of drying. However, I mixed some more with Evostik glue and it turned out great. Purchasing supplies is very difficult on the Island so I send to Amazon UK but they're not allowed to send me alcohol based inks due to air travel. I'm loving your videos and happily my beach scene turned out great.

This is so amazing and so beautiful! Whomever received this is a very lucky soul💙 My boyfriend and I are serious beach glass collectors... Like 3 to 7 times a week during the nicer weather. We spend sunrise to sunset when we can and depending on where we go the minimum drive is 30 min. We have driven hours to other states as well for to beach glass🤷🏼‍♀️. We just love finding glass and fossils. We pack the cooler the night b4 and disappear. I just showed him ur video and said Babe.. we can create things like this and sell them and save everything and sell everything and get a house or more likely a shack on the beach and never have to leave💙💙💙 TRULY GORGEOUS!

YILA MARIA GIRALDO PARDO yayyy how exciting! Ok so depends on the resin you’re using but it can imprint with bubble wrap so I recommend getting acid free paper to wrap it in gently, then bubble wrap. If it’s a hard resin like faux rizzle like I use then I ship in a few days. If it’s a softer resin like art resin, leggari, Ks, etc then it will take a couple weeks before I would be ok shipping

Dear Abstract Boss - this is my favorite tutorial by far on this type of project. I am a newbie to resin work and gave it my 4th try tonight. I just can’t get the waves. I am using Castin’Craft Opaque Pigment Concentrate and adding more drops than I can count of Resi-Blast. Less than satisfactory results. Pretty much giving up. If I don’t add enough pigment it’s transparent but either way it seems to sink to the bottom of the resin already on the glass. Can you help?
@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jane! I haven’t tried that pigment yet. I know I have gotten results with armor art from counter culture diy, and the white liquid pigment from just resin. I am ordering another white to try soon too. I also wouldn’t add any resiblast on this type of project after the fact because it will push way too much. I’d say the best is when it has the ability to flow over but within these frames that’s hard. So the best thing to do is so small lines and work it slowly with a heat gun and then spray with alcohol (91%) which also helps with bringing a couple cells. Hope that helps! ♥️

great work- is it necessary to blowtorch the resin or is just in the interest of time? Thanks!
@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
James Wong great question! If you want bubbles then it isn’t necessary lol. Blow torch gets rid of the bubbles. You can also use isopropyl alcohol (91% or higher) and put it in a spray bottle and that will pop bubbles BUT it could cause extra cells or movement in the piece that you don’t want.
