How to Make a Rotation Animation - SOLIDWORKS Motion Tutorial

I'm going to show you a quick and streamlined process to create a rotation animation for your SolidWorks models. Creating animations allows you to quickly display your designs to others in an easy-to-view format and really impress your clients with the relatively low investment of your time. I'm going to show two different methods to create a rotation animation.
One is going to be the rotation animation wizard, basically an easy button, but since often more control is needed, I also show the manual the still quick method to create these rotation animations.

Hi, thank you for the video. I am obviously new to this but I'm having an issue following these steps and getting it to work. I have tried probably 20 times now deleting and recreating a new motion study and I got it to work 1 time but not the other 19 times lol. The problem I have is that when I create the motion I get a cyan colored line that goes across but it is not highlighted in yellow like the one time I got it to work and like yours in the video. So when I press play, it goes through the step but the model does not rotate. The one time when it was highlighted in yellow it would rotate just like yours.

The yellow bar on the time scale is the rebuild/calculation indicator. If the motion study is rebuilt and ready to play, it will show yellow. If it is yellow with hatching, that means it is saved from a previous rebuild but is out of date due to a change to the model. If the yellow does not exist, it has not been calculated and may not display anything. Often hitting play will calculate it, but as a rule I always calculate the first time. Next to the Play button, click Calculate and it should play, fill the time scale with yellow, and accurately display the animations you've defined.

In my case the camera is rotating instead of the component. I think I messed up something. How can I fix this

The camera is supposed to move. If it is moving but not pointing at your model, make sure to modify the camera target so it stays looking at your item of interest.
