helpful tips: You should not have the start menu on the same costume as the start button, as having it as its own sprite would be easier, same thing going for the start menu apps, each app should have its own sprite, you can also use broadcasts to send out signals to each one sprite.

I’m actually a scratch creator already! I love making games and they usually don’t take me too long either. There is ONE question I have though. How would you convert this into a useable file? I know how to download the files to my computer but have no clue how you would make it into an actual OS you could set up a PC with.

If your sysyem work on backdrops then it will crash. Because I made system like this (it was on of my first scratch project) and it was normal at beginning but then it just crashed and have lots of bugs

This ins't a scratch os, but a OS Simulator, recreates another OS. A true Scratch OS is original, but good tutorial!

when you realize this isn't an operating system because its impossible to build an os in scratch, i wonder why little kids think an OS is just a program that acts like windows, NO. an operating system is a program desinged to communicate with the computer, and stuff like screenlockers are programs that ask for a username and password, not required, also, this is plaguarism

to add a pic by copying you just neet to go on the browser, find the image, right click, press the save as and name it and them import it to scratch

Kid it's not called an Operating System. For writing an OS you need to it in Assembly or C and for OS you need make a Kernal this is just a joke you will realise when you learn about it. This thing can't run inside a Machine directly basically it's a simulator and nothing else. And I can't believe some people are so dumb in comments to think this is an actual OS.
