How to Make a Silicone Bowl Mold Craft Tutorial

11 жыл бұрынIn this video I show you how to make a bowl mold, so you can create unique decorative bowls. You are limited only by your imagination! Use glitter, candy stickers or anything you can think of to craft a resin bowl. It's a fun DIY project!

Oh!! I just discovered you and I am SO glad that i have! Your videos are so helpful. I love, love, love the resin molds you have made, and now how to make my own bowls! AWESOME!!! Do you have a video showing you using these molds to create bowls? I use laundry detergent measuring cups. I have been saving them for a while (I use to volunteer at preschool and these worked great for many projects) and I bought silicone Spatulas from the dollar store for stirring. The silicone mold material peels off all tools I use easily. Also the little measuring cups have measurements on the side. Plus the stuff you peel off and be used as filler in big mold making projects.

Can you use a glass bowl as the mold base or will it stick to that?

I haven't seen it in the craft stores, so I am going to suggest you get it online. Amazon has it. Otherwise ask at the craft store and they might be able to get it for you. Mona

Thought: Can you turn both the molds inside out and get the glossy finish so you wouldn't have to add a coat of resin to make it glossy for a finish? I think they might work that way also.

How would you make that inner bowl you had near the end, but about 10mm thick in total? I am wanting to make cupping devices out of silicone and with 2 attachments, but it needs to be about that size, but 10 mm thick.

Is the inside bowl smaller than the outside bowl? That's the only part that was not mentioned.

Here are the written directions: www.craftklatch.com/how-to-make-silicone-bowl-mold-craft/ I brushed the silicone on the inside of one bowl and on the outside of the other, so they were slightly different in size.

❤I trying to learn it's not going to be too hard I don't think I think I understand that you have to mix the paint and paint it on the mold and then when it dries for about 24 hrs. Then you just peel

Actually thin the blue liquid silicone? I don't know. You could reach out to the manufacturer. They are usually pretty responsive.

I noticed that there was a bit of trouble removing the Silicone from the wax paper. I've seen recommendations to use a stiffer material like a plastic cutting board (such as this one: www.amazon.com/Stanton-Trading-2-Inch-Cutting-Board/dp/B0032AM0BC/). Since the cutting board is both stiff and made out of plastic, the silicone should rip right off!

Why two different sized bowls? Why not do the outside then the inside. I also have bought mold maker just spread on, no mixing but it smells awful. It works tho and it ends up clear colored

FDA approved resin is commonly available. You can use it for countertops, and serving. I would not use it for hot foods or to heat anythungd

Other brands of silicone rubber come in other colors - pink, gray, yellow, white are what I've seen. Some on the cooking websites are pink and white.

This was a few years ago, I can't remember. Just be sure to follow the directions on the product and you should be good.

ravenclanx Yes! It says up to 400 degrees (F). However, if you use it for resin, don't use it for food. You want it dedicated just to food. Hope that helps!
