@@mitroiz9182 I have the same doubt. Basically what he is asking is that can you animate the speed of the jet throughout the curve. I believe you have to animate the offset value in the object constraint of the empty.

@jeff pentagon Gotta be honest. I see AMAZING stuff done with blender, and I'm a quick learner. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how the hell to USE BLENDER! What I mean is If I import a model, it doesn't show up, and the interface is overwhelming. In Bryce, it was so easy. The model imports to the center of your camera, adjust lighting. The make your start and end points for your animation, and thats it! With Blender, just getting the model to show up on the screen is impossible, and, while at first glance the interface looks straightforward, it isn't at all. I learned VUE back in the day by just playing with it for a few hours. Same with Bryce. But my funds are limited, and since Blender is free, and I've seen what it can do, it seemed right up my alley. But its just not user friendly at all. The interface is a complicated mess. I want to use Blender SOOOO BAD!

@@ChrisS-no3ftidk i came from a programming background and blender was the easiest thing i had to learn lol, 2-3 months and I can make some photorealistic stuff

although if your path is drawn with some unintentional sharp edges like mine it causes some unnatural flight turning 😅

Good question. My thought process at the time was that the animation might seem too rigid and stiff if I auto keyed, you could probably pull it off with auto keying but i haven't messed around with auto much but I liked the control of just manually animating it myself.

Thanks! for the fog effect I added a cube over the whole scene and gave the cube a material with an emitter node with a very low strength plugged into the volume in the output node.

I think for this shot I had a massive cube surrounding everything which used a principled volume shader with a emission shader plugged in to that with a very low strength

you have to go to the material viewer in the top right above the x y z wheel

Turn on fixed position!!!! Then drag the offset slider to position the ship where you want it on the correct frame and right click the offset bar to insert a key frame. Manually go through and set the locations/rotations with key frames based on how long you want the ship to take to get there/ banking etc... Mess around in the graph editor to fine tune the speed shifts between key frames and voila!

@@trevorham Is there a way to set at which frame the object gets to the end of the path? I find that every time I use this object constraint, the object gets to the end of the path at exactly 100 frames. Is there a way that I can change this to around 150 or 200?

7 on the num pad was something I said so you can see the path your making from the correct perspective, to add the path go to the left side of your screen and click on the pencil with the little curve dots next to it and then you can use that to draw your path

one way you can do it is in blender going to your file tab in the top left. go down down until you see append click that, navigate to the folder with the speederbike file, click on the .BLEND, click objects click the top object then shift click the last one and click append. You should now have the model in blender fully textured.

@@bswm1830 Thank You :D I got it working now and render my animation now. Now I just have to wait what feels like 10 days for it to finish rendering. :)

I feel like your issue could be that the object is not at 0,0 so go into the item tab on the right and change the objects coordinates to 0,0

Will take that into consideration for my next one!

In blender there is a default add-on called A.N.T landscapes and a lot of people use that for making landscapes. But in this video I used a version where it uses textures instead of modifying the geometry you can find it here github.com/nerk987/txa_ant but it's made by the same guy who made the original I don't understand why it's not the default in blender it's much better. And I might make a tutorial about this soon it seems like a lot of people could use this type of add-on
