I like the painted one. They both look great.

I think both have their places, the potential for adding lights or making small additional decorations is pretty awesome. If you have a family of woodworkers it would be a super cool idea to make one of these and have everyone make their own personal ornament for it!

Natural is Nice with Colored Lights on It, But the Color is also Nice and Bright, A Nice Antique Green with a Gold Start would also be Very Nice. Great for Outside or Inside Decoration. Great Woodworking and Easy to Make.

Definitely like the plain tree better. Quick thought, have you thought about putting a 45° chamfer on the angled edges? Might give it an even more wrapped look.

I like both. I would make the slanted pieces a little longer and use a spacer so they have the same angle all the way up then trim the ends. Great video!

Very cool build, I like the plain tree better but am a fan of stain vs paint. Would be interested to use red and white stain :) Excited to try both star & tree!!

Good build. Good Job on the video. As far as to paint or stain or seel against nature, it depends on decorator. I'd say make them cedar for customers that want a natural look, and let them know if it stays outside, it's gonna gray unless they seel it, and yellow pine, which is a little heavier that the cedar, but perfect for priming and painting for whatever theme they've come up with. Then they can scuff sand a little bit and change color next year if they want. I'd definitely paint the trunk brown and the tree various shades of green for 1 example, and prime 1 white for another example, just whatever color of ribbons or lights to achieve color/theme. Never hurts to have 4 or 5 examples of what you're selling if you're making in bulk, because people cannot envision what it would look like in their space, unless you help them. Keep the videos coming brother. You're doing a good job.😎🤓🤠

Saw this first. I like the plain better, might think about staining the star for a wall mount version tho. I ended up adding two more feet, front and back, because it fell down after an hour outside with two feet. Just used more 2x4 than the plan called for.
