How to make a style using your Yamaha Genos Part 1

In this video I will show you how to create 4 style variations using just your Genos. Part 2 will be covering fill in's for variations and then part 3 will cover introductions and endings for your style.

Finally, The all New Yamaha Genos 2 will be announced on then 15th November 2023. WOW! Worth the long and enguish wait for the replacement of the mighty original Genos. I seem to think that it will be a involution from the original rather than resolutional! Either way, it will be a giant step forward in technology, most probably a much refined AWM2 and hopefully a more realistic styles that would knock your socks off :) Yamaha for me is a life saver as I have been playing them since 1983. Thank you goes to you Leigh Wilbraham as you are indeed a beacon of inspiration and total dedication towards this mighty beast.

Thank you for this video! I have had my Genos 1 for several years and have been composing my own tunes on it. 75 so far. But I am running out of ways to alter the native Styles to make their each sound a little different. I would now like to create my own Styles and truly appreciate not only that you've shown how to do that, you've done it in a way that is easy to understand!

Thank you, Leigh. Another excellent video, very well explained. Looking forward to Part 3 where you show us how to create intros. I have a number of styles in my library ( 'Pretty woman' by Roy Orbison, 'Cherish' by Kool and the Gang.....etc) with very distinctive, unique bars of introduction. I would really love to know how these were created so that I can produce my own.

Hi Leigh, this video is so incredibly helpful. Saw it and tried to create a Dance-Style in my SX 900. Okay, I‘m not (yet) as quick as you but it worked fine. You make it look so easy, that‘s kind of infectious 😊 Can‘t wait for the next part. I struggle a little bit with NTR, Root fixed or Melody and that stuff. Perhaps you can make a video about that someday. Would be great! Love your channel. Take care. Karsten from Germany

I Pick one of these up for a great price has a lot of cosmetic damage but it works great. I'm into trap/trance music and I always thought of arrangers keyboards as more "Barry Manilow". So I'm looking to adopt this for my taste thanks for the videos.

Very nice demo Leigh. I've read that you can use the arpegiator to help doing strumming patterns which usually is a tedious edit to make them sound natural instead of sounding like a machine where all notes hit on the same timestamp if people are using quantice (its kinda hard to record a strumming guitar chord rhythm without editing the timing of each note manually after recording it). Looking forward to part 2 🙂
