This cold process soap making tutorial shows you how to make a tiger swirl/tiger stripe cold process soap. This is the second video in my 'You can make this soap' series, where I hope, by breaking down the technique and giving lots of hints and tips you will be able to produce a beautiful tiger swirl soap.
This cold process soap making tutorial is complete in one part as there was no need for extras to be added in a second video.
Depending on whether you want to just do a tiger swirl/tiger stripe or the whole design with the scalloped base layer, you may just want to jump to the parts relevant to you. I've made some timestamps below that you can click on to take you to the parts you want to watch. If we're lucky KZfaq may have even put chapters in the scroll bar (but it can be random so they may not be there)
0:00:00 Introduction
0:01:35 The tiger swirl soap we're going to make
0:02:09 Tiger swirl soap design
0:03:18 Calculations (Soapy maths) - how to split your layers
0:05:39 Preparing your scraper (if doing scalloped layer)
0:06:59 Colours
0:07:39 Preparing lye and oils
0:08:13 Preparing and pouring the base layer
0:12:20 Dispersing colours for tiger swirl - including tips for dispersing neons
0:13:39 How to test when the base layer is ready to scrape and shape
0:14:12 Scraping the scallop shape in the base layer
0:14:48 Preparing batter for tiger swirl/tiger stripe
0:17:39 POURING the TIGER STRIPE / SWIRL
0:23:12 CPOP (cold process oven process)
0:23:52 Cutting the soap
0:23:37 Bevelling the soap
0:25:13 Stamping the soap
0:26:02 Final pictures and thanks for watching :-)
If you are going to attempt making this soap please make sure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures surrounding cold process soap. I accept no responsibility for your welfare whilst you make soap. Also, this video is intended for people who have at least basic skills in making cold process soap, please make sure you are reasonably competent before attempting these techniques.

Disclaimer
Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all safe and well. The tiger swirl was the technique that was voted as the favourite for the next tutorial, so here it is. I have added a scalloped layer at the bottom, you can choose to do this or leave it off in your design. I have added timestamps in the description so that if you don't need all of the tutorial, you can easily find the bits relevant to you. If you have any techniques you would like to see made into a tutorial then please drop them in the comments below and if a number of people want the same thing I can make sure I cover it in a future video. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below and I will get back to you, Happy soaping - Lisa :-)

I am going to start listing all of the small yet important details you are teaching me. The wait period is so important for these intricate designs. I think the clamshell was my first time to realize the need to just be patient and wait for the trace. "I can make this soap" Thank you, there is a reason your videos have many commercials and that is a complement :)

You make it look so easy and I just LOVE your videos. I've learned a great deal from you - the tracing video is just what I needed. Sometimes I have 'glop' the last color in and it's not pretty when I unmold. Thank you sooooo much for your cheerful demeanor and knowledge !

One of the comments say 30 seconds of watching is the least we can do and she is absolutely right, I know that helps so I always watch 30 s and more. Thank you for this great tutorial and as usual the soap looks amazing. I’ll try to make it! 👏👍

Thank you so much Victoria, and thank you for taking the time to watch the ads. I hated saying it (that's why it looks a bit awkward) but I thought quite a few people may not know. Like you I always watch the ads(well let them run when I make a cup of tea). It is nice to see a little bit coming back :-) I hope you do make this one and I hope it comes out well :-)
