Thank you so much for this video. I just invested in the wave 3 to better my stream quality as my budget would not allow for a studio level mic. This video helped me set up exactly how I wanted. Just an FYI for any viewers out there, I used the reaper VST's just like in this video, but I used them on Wave Link for my Wave 3. After this video was made, Wave Link gained VST support which makes a HUGE difference in setting up this mic :) Again, thanks, guys. :)

Amazing video bro! My 2c from someone who works with mics a audio gear every day. You can make a low budget sound amazing simply by correcting the acoustics in your room. (Carpet, curtains etc) proper acoustic treatment would go a long way. Getting closer to the mic will help bring more focus to your voice rather than reverberation from the room. A little eq will go a long way. Don't boost too much high end or cut too much bass. Don't over compres your voice. Yes it sounds nice and evens out the voice but it comes at the cost of bringing up room noise. Hope this helps someone out.

I've been trying to use the software VoiceMeeter so that I can split discord/Game/Other audio, and am using it to colour my voice for discord input too. Would loveit if you were to do a video on Voicemeeter, and using it with OBS. That's if you use it of course. Thanks!

If you're talking about the EQ settings in VoiceMeeter I think you could probably do what they did in this video and then transfer the EQ settings over to VM's one cause it's just a graph with 6 bands, controllable frequency ranges etc so you might be able to get it sounding pretty close rather easily

Great video! But, what happen if I'm using RTX Voice? Does it work the same? Always watching your streams and videos, they are really helpful. And better for us, when we have to do everything for ourself. Greetings from Nicaragua.
@RiccardoLulli
@RiccardoLulli 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it works the same, you just have to apply the filters to the audio output of RTX Voice. Be aware though, RTX Voice impacts audio quality, use it only if you can't remove the noise from your environment.
@Cynical_Finch
@Cynical_Finch 3 жыл бұрын
Follow the steps shown in this video & stop using RTX Voice. RTX Voice is Noise Suppression, which is an alternative to Noise Gate, though not as good in terms of sound quality. Never ever use Noise Suppression and Noise Gate together. Use one or the other, with the approach of Noise Suppression being you last resort desperate measure to eliminate background noise. And if you feel you absolutely prefer Noise Suppression instead of Noise Gate, the don't use RTX Voice. Use the ReaFir plugin that is part of the Reaper Plugin package. Watch Frugal Streamer's video on how to set up ReaFir properly. It's super easy.

Had the same question. I know that you can make it sound better on stream, but what about on discord and such. How do I make it sound good in general?

@@Cynical_Finch Thank you, this is a great help. I just cant get by without RTX voice because it helps with more than just the OBS side of things. How do I make it sound better in just Windows as a whole?

@@patdrip5717 The answer is EqualizerAPO! It's easy to use, lightweight and supports any VST plugin (even the same used in this video).

@Nyx Hypnos headset mics can be ok, i had the Turtle Beach wired for my xBox at one point and that seemed to work fine or you can also try to get (a little more expensive and if you play on xbox one) the xBox adapter by Turtle Beach (i think)

@Nyx Hypnos but a good usb budget mic is a FiFine USB, it should be around $35 (just for the mic and mini stand) or $80 for the whole set.

That is the purpose of the compressor, you will not need any extra clipguards (I presume the clipguard is a compressor itself, with default blanket rule settings..)

great baseline video. i ended up adding a 60hz band with 1oct and dropping it out completely because my voice is very bassy, and also reducing the 6500hz gain with a slightly increased bandwith to correct sibilance.
