This dish is a 'slow to cook food' but easy to make, and this is one of the best dishes I've learned in Japan, so I want to share it to you. #porkrecipe #porkbelly #slowtocookfood #角煮 #howtocookporkbelly
 
For this recipe, you need:
1 kilo of pork belly block
2 spring onion
20 grams of ginger (* if you like ginger,you can put 10 grams more)
3 tablespoons of brown sugar
50 ml of sake
50 ml of Japanese soy sauce
2 sachet of dashi powder
*Cooking tips;
- Make sure you fry both sides of the meat before adding the ingredients.
- Flip the meat from time to time ( also the eggs)
- simmer in low heat
** In the video, I said that you can store this for 2 days, but if you only cook the meat without the eggs- you can store it longer.
-You can eat it with udon or ramen, but I prefer it with ramen.

This pork belly looks so delicious! I have to try it, just need to replace sake ... (Unfortunately it is not common here). Would mirin be a good as a substitute please?

Yes, if you have mirin it is better, but maybe lessen the amount of brown sugar as mirin is ‘sake with sugar’, so it will be too sweet. Again, thank you so much 😊.
