How to make the best baked beans ever! These baked beans will blow your mind, they are SO delicious! Who knew this mixture would be SO tasty? Try it and you'll see; YUMMERS!
These baked beans are also an easy to-go dish when heading out to July 4th parties (and football tailgates). In the Dutch oven, they travel easily and only need a stove top, grill, or fire to warm up and serve - saving you and your hosts their oven space. Enjoy!
Ingredients/supplies:
12 oz cooked and chopped bacon
12 oz cooked and sliced andouille sausage
12 oz cooked and sliced kielbasa
2 medium chopped yellow onions
1/2 c brown sugar
1/3 c white vinegar
2 tbsp ground mustard
28 oz can of pork and beans
15.25 oz can of lima beans (standard can)
16 oz can butter beans (standard can)
16 oz can kidney beans (standard can)
15 oz chicken broth or just 1 standard can
In a Dutch oven over medium to medium high heat - use 3 tbsp of leftover bacon grease or olive oil - saute onions for about 5 minutes or until translucent, then add brown sugar, vinegar and ground mustard - simmer for 2 minutes, then
add bacon and sausage - mix well, then
add all beans, mix well, then
add broth, mix well, then
cover Dutch oven and place on wire rack - CSO level 1 - Convection Humid Mode 300 for 2 hours.
*If using regular oven, place oven safe bowl of water on lower rack for added moisture while baking - set to 325 degrees (pre-heat) for 2 - 2.5 hours.
