A very good idea,you should also put some of the silicone around the joint on the inside. It's much easier than what I had done ,I had used the joint of a paper mate pen and the glue gun to fasten it

You can get thtem in any pet store. The connector is for an air pump, and the hose is the air tube. You can also can find the connector and the tube in gardening store.

Because the glass of water is placed lower than the jar cap . The pressure of the gas from the fermentation in the jar will push away the air. Thus creating an air lock with the water in the glass. Gas will flow only out the jar, and no air will go in.

You have not shown second end of pipe properly, one cannot understand type that blue item you used or it's name

You should have tried with some KY Jelly ..... believe me it always works😁😁 by the way ur jar cap is useless to ferment anything now, it gotta cracked 😂😂

Apply some hot water to the lid or just get it a little hot, that way you'll avoid cracking it. Hot makes plastics and metals softer and cold does the opposite aka makes things brittle in general.
