You, sir, are a young marvel! I recently had to sell my brand new Arbor longboard due to a chronic, reoccuring injury :( super sad. I've seen motorized longboards priced at insane rates ($1000+ USD). However, your video gives me hope that one day, I might make my own motorized long board and return to doing something I LOVED to do. Thank you for this video!!

Nice build can't wait to see electronics portion I am modding a electric board myself it was a 12v board from Walmart made by Altered got it for 100 bucks hoping it will save me from having to buy so much stuff online and from using press and all that as I don't have the shop access at the moment so for anyone discouraged bc of lack of tools this is a good option as u can pick and choose whatever u want to use from it.

By far the best tutorial I've seen so far. I actually converted a regular scooter into an electric scooter which was quite a challenge as there were no standard parts and had to design my own bracket. Might do a video about it on my other channel as I am doing some work on it at the moment. I had problems with the belt slipping so need to create a bracket that allows me to tighten the belt more easily. Do the tension-adjusting screws come loose?

This has to be my favorite project of yours. Because you are looking for improvement I might suggest concealing the electronics better. Maybe premanently attach the wires. Of course that is unless you've already done it. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the next video and you are doing an amazing work!

Hey dude, great work first of all! Secondly, when drilling aluminum, 'peck' at it. Just make little bites so that your chips can clear. Also, get a bottle of general purpose oil and dab a little on now and again. It'll keep your drill bits sharper, longer, and will help keep things cooler and cutting better. Aluminum is soft and gooey (in terms of a metal), and blocks up the cutting heads of drill bits and other cutting tools. Hope it helps. Keep creating! :D

if you were planning on using a chain, i would recommend the type used on mini motos and mobility scooters and not bicycle chains, they are smaller but designed to be used on motors

Hi TAOW, I've just orded stuff to build my own. I found some nice timing pullys on the accu group website for similar prices to ebay but they do a variatiy of belt widths and tooth pitch. Might be worth checking out. Do you know if I can charge the lipo through a BMS without disconecting the lipo from the ESC? Thanks and keep up the good videos!

if you could figure out how to mold your own wheels, you could maybe 3d print rim motor mounts that would hold the motor in the wheel. That would eliminate the need for the belt system, and it would make it more compact.

Instead of going to bike chain (which may struggle with the sprocket radii involved) I would gear it down a bit more with a wider belt and possibly try building in a slipper clutch instead of a direct drive. Those options will probably help extend your range too.

I have a motor that can handle 80 Amps Max.. And I want 3 battery's in series ''3S 5200mah 10C-rating'' Are they compatible? Because 5,2A x 10C = 156 amps.. and that's way more than 80 amps that the motor supports. Or does only the volt matter?

It would be neat if you could turn the controller into some type of glove that you could control by holding a button on the glove or touching some sort of contact point to activate the motor although the electronics in the remote might be a little difficult to incorporate into a glove or something like that

As a tip you can use wood working tools with aluminum, thought you need to use suitable lubrication and sharpen the tools more often. Of course metal working tools are preferred, but you can manage with band saw for instance if tooths are small enough and you use lubrication. Other good tool is wood hand planer to round up the edges.

Great little vehicle. It would make a good emergency vehicle for in my car. Far better then the cheap little kick scouter I currently have. Actually, now that I think about it, there is nothing preventing me from doing this to that kick scouter, ha. I weight twice as much as you though, so I need a higher torque motor.
