@memyselfandi6422
@memyselfandi6422 5 жыл бұрын
Tricky's World I could not disagree more, due to the fact that, what if you came upon an issue and you couldn't resolve it, then you would have a non working product which you would possibly have spent a considerable amount of time and money on, which doesn't even work, where as, if you buy an already built and working product you get to have fun immediately.
@tristanmcleish3825
@tristanmcleish3825 5 жыл бұрын
@@memyselfandi6422 i disagree with your argument because building it trouble shooting it and fixing it and then having a one of a kind board is much more satisfying than just buying one that is just like hundreds of others and then when it brakes you don't have the knowledge or experience to fix it. or it is to me anyway
@memyselfandi6422

@@tristanmcleish3825 You can *try* to troubleshoot any issues that may arise, but what if you can't resolve the issue/s no matter how hard you try, the end result being you end up with a non working product and wasted money. You also end up frustrated and think to yourself that, you should have bought a professionally built product which you could now being having fun with. I would prefer to have a professionally built product that looks neat and tidy rather than building my own product which would end up looking ghetto and may not be as sturdy as a professionally built product.
@Petr214
@Petr214 5 жыл бұрын
@@memyselfandi6422 your problem isn't that you can"t resolve it.. it's that you don't even want to think about how to do it. Don't know how? Search, learn, educate yourself and try again. by just going out and buying stuff, you're losing a big part of the experience. People used to be more self reliant.. sigh
@memyselfandi6422
@memyselfandi6422 5 жыл бұрын
@@Petr214 I'd still prefer to buy it rather than build it, because while you (for a hypothetical example) are building your ugly looking frankenstein monstrosity, I am off having fun with my pleasure to look at and use, professionally built by experts who know what they're doing, electric skateboard. So who's the dummy in this situation, the guy having fun immediately or the guy who is slaving away still *trying* to build his toy who can't have any fun until his toy is built ? Would you rather purchase a gourmet meal at a restaurant which was prepared and cooked by a professional chef or would you prefer to buy the raw ingredients and *attempt* to make that same meal yourself at home ? If you attempted to make that meal for yourself from raw ingredients, do you think it would taste as good as the meal cooked by the professional chef, of course it wouldn't. *by going out and buying things you're losing a big part of the experience* What I lose in experience I make up for and gain in immediate satisfaction, fun and pleasure and I save heaps of time. *People used to be more self reliant* Yes they did, but that was in an age where people had no choice other than self reliance. If people throughout the ages had a choice (they didn't, but if they did), I am pretty sure convenience would win out over self reliance every time. In this modern day and age only gluttons for punishment would voluntarily choose self reliance over convenience. To take this argument to the extreme, do you or did you : Make your own clothes by sewing material together to make pants and shirts and underwear etc. ? Most likely not because it's more convenient to buy rather than make your own clothes. Build your own house ? (hypothetically speaking, because a lot of people rent rather than buy or even build these days) Cut your own hair ? I could keep going with different examples but I think you understand where I am going with this ?

Hey guys and jehugarcia , I just wanne say that I was inspired to build this DIY Skateboard and I have done that. It is finnaly finnished, and I have to say It works realy well but just like jehugarcia said the tork is there but the speed is missing. so I will overvoltage the hub moters to a 12s battery, now I'm running them on 36 Volt (42v). I think most people don't have that much money so this is the cheapest build there is(?) for me the final cost where around 260 euro's (303 dollar). It is a lot of fun! Thanks for the great video!

@@Yotraj that's pretty difficult with these types of hub motors because there's not a lot of aftermarket tires, it's possible to make your own tire with a mold but I personally wouldn't want to do that because it seems hard. Awesome project, thanks! That looks pretty fast as an alternative to a bicycle. Which is really what you want to get around town. I have to look into this more, what is the best way, hoverboard or electric skateboard or e-bike? It feels a hoverboard would be better because you can control the speed with your feet instead of needing a remote. Another problem is of course the legality over here in Europe :/ EDIT: After looking a little, problem with hoverboards on even slightly uneven surfaces is that any vibration changes the tilt and makes the ride awkward as a transportation vehicle. So skateboard is probably actually better.

Where did you get the remote control? I am looking for exactly the type of remote capability you have in your video.

I'd mount that battery meter and switch in a housing over the front axle so you don't have your foot on it all the time.

Is there a way to wire these motors without using the hall sensors? Looking into a sabertooth dual But I’m not sure if it will work

What do you do with the Hal sensor connector on the wheel? Does not look like it connected to anything on the schematic.

So did you ever try 48v. I'm thinking if using 60v for more speed and distance. I think you only need two hubs wheel cuz the weight is crazy. Do you think the speed controller can handle 60v?
