You are smart enough, the baby didn't appeared to be a newly hatched one, lookalike two days old. And the egg he was holding is moist while the baby body is dried and the baby itself is looking strong.

We came across 3 pigeon eggs and they turned out to come from my neighbor who raises pigeons. The eggs are about 3 days old. My question is my DIY incubator is the 3 eggs are within a damp towel inside a ceramic bowl. The bowl is located inside a plastic reptile carrying case we had for our tortoises with a heat lamp (no light, only heat) above. We turn the eggs a few times a day and try to keep the temps around 98-100 degrees F, and 50-75% humidity. Do you think this will work or should I order an actual incubator? Thanks in advance! 🥚🐣

After hatching, leave the chick be for 1 1/2 to days ,, DO NOT FEED & KEEP THE TEMP 88. (double check online) with a big syringe and soft tube every 4,5 fill his Crop with a mixture of baby bird feed (buy at pet store ) and a teaspoon of whole milk .. after the 5th day grind the parents seed and just add water till it’s like bread doe and make little balls and hand feed .. first 2 weeks the temperature is key for survival,, I keep him in an aquarium tank with heat pad under and a thermostat inside. DO NOT OVERFEED. wait till the crop is empty
