On this episode of Make It Kustom, I am working on a 1931 Model A Roadster building custom small block Chevy engine mounts using flat head Ford style rubber pucks. The reason for doing this on a frame that already had mounts was to lift the drivetrain for ground clearance. I levelled the engine and transmission and then started measuring for my mounts. I transfer these measurements into a CAD program and cut my plates on my Hypertherm Powermax 65 CNC plasma cutter. Using the brake press, I form the mounts into the final shape and weld them using my MIG welder. Once ground smooth, I reinstall the engine. After the engine and transmission are aligned in their final spot, I TIG weld to the chassis.
