How to Make Any Video Sound Your Ringtone on iPhone
To make the sound from a video into a ringtone, you’ll have to take a couple of steps.
First, you’ll need to convert the video into an MP3 file by extracting the audio. You can do this with a free converter app. You can use the ringtone maker app for this. With this app, simply choose the video file, press it, and choose to make a ringtone.

Then, you’ll need to save that mp3 as a ringtone. Apple makes an app to do exactly that. It’s called GarageBand and you can download it for free from the App Store.

The newest version of Garage Band doesn’t show me the imported file when I tap on My Songs. It shows me iCloud files. None of them can be “shared” to create a ring tone. 😔

I literally spent months trying to find a video that would actually help me make this work, and once i got tired because i didn't find any helpful videos, i literally just gave up. today i had nothing to do so i was like let me try this one more time because i'm bored. They change the ringtone app a little bit but other than that this entire thing was such a breeze! Thank you! now my favorite song is my ringtone. My dad said that I would have to get Apple Music on a computer to do it lol 😂

i tried this and everything went great until the exporting part and it says it can’t be exported bc “a song can only be exported if it contains a recording of a touch instrument or a live loops performance to tracks view.” that’s a lot of words that mean absolutely nothing to me and i have no idea if i’m just doing something wrong or i can’t use the sound i tried to use or what. 😭😭😭😭😭

Help! Garage band changed something and now I can’t make my recording of the school district’s fight song into a ringtone for the school contact because of this same error message above. There has to be a fix that doesn’t involve messing up the recording! 😭

I just added a small snippet of my own voice recording and stayed completely silent so it didn’t effect my ringtone audio and then it let me save it

This is such an easy way but there was one problem for me I just want to warn others about, after you do it a couple times, it asked me to buy the pro version saying my number of trials has been reached and to make anymore I had to pay $6 a month which I don’t want to do. It was my favourite song too. But overall if you want to do it just once it’s fine. And this tutorial was so easy to follow and make the process so simple. Thank you

This would’ve been a great help but since my iPhone is so old it can’t download the apps. Also my Touch ID won’t work. I turned it off but it just turned right back on. I will save this video if I get a new phone eventually.

Tried using this method and in GarageBand when I tried to press and hold on the Audio file to share it, it keeps saying “Sharing is limited to GarageBand songs and projects. Select this file and try again.” I even tried converting the video I want to use to mp3 form, and when that didn’t work, tried making the mp3 into a GarageBand file. Still no luck

So i followed all the steps but when I tried to turn it into a ringtone from garage band it said the file doesn’t exist and I couldn’t do anything to the file :/
