I can remember my nana making these when I was a little boy (over 50 years ago) and this recipe was the one that tastes the way I remember. I cannot wait until I can pass this on to my grandchildren. Thank you so very much.

Awesome recipe. When making the sauce - try substituting the two cups of water with two cups of apple cider!

In the video, you said to mix 1-1/2 Tablespoons of cinnamon but the written recipe says 1-1/2 teaspoons. Which is correct.? Thanks!

Sorry for the confusion! The written recipe is correct. 😊

How would this turn out if you only had an apple slicer and just rolled the apples up in the dough?
@SugarSpunRun4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure how it would work. It would probably turn out but there would definitely need to be some adjustments made for baking times

This is what an apple dumpling is. I worked for a famous pastry company..in the restaurant part..and this is how they were made..with sauce also.. Very yummy.
@jennshook42593 жыл бұрын
Our family has been making them for over 6 generations, and we have always peeld, cored, and sliced the apples. The dumpling eats better, the seasoning filling distributes evenly over the apples. We always figured people use a whole apple because they don't want to take the time to peel. Also....we use an even amount of Granny Smith's and Rome apples.....the reference of red delicious made me chuckle. Those are a no way jose apple in our experience.
@Rem694u23 жыл бұрын
@@jennshook4259 That is how I have always made them and seen them at county fairs and farmers markets. A whole apple just seems like it would be more difficult to eat. And when sliced the entire apple gets seasoned to perfection.
