My grandma used to heat the whole house up when she made homemade banana pudding she used to bake hers! She didn’t let the summer heat stop her or us not having an AC to cope scare her off. 😂

Homemade vanilla wafers definitely made my pudding even better! I'll never use Nabisco " Nilla " wafers again ! They don't taste nothing like they did back in the day! they stopped using real vanilla.that's why they had to rename them Nilla versus vanilla wafers! I was told they have no butter,eggs or vanilla. Homemade vanilla wafers are quick and easy ! It definitely will elevate your banana pudding even the banana pudding haters will ask you for your recipe! Use fresh heavy whipping cream versus cool whip. Philadelphia cream cheese or some use sourcream to cut the sweet & richness help balance the flavors. I've added roasted bananas that I strain to the actual pudding base to bump up the flavor and add a natural sweetness if you want to reduce the amount of sugar used. Brushing the banana slices with fresh lemon juice keeps them from oxidizing.

YUMMY!!! Thank you, Diva, for sharing another delicious recipe. This is exactly how I make mine. The only difference is I use half n half. It helps to speed up the thickening process. Also, I sometimes alternate layers with sprinkles of a cinnamon sugar mix (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, brown sugar, white sugar). Try it and watch how the flavors play in your mouth! ❤️

This is quite different than my mom's homemade banana pudding (made with homemade custard) but your version looks MUCH easier to do!

I tried this recipe tonight. Overall, I really like this recipe and it was easy to make. I should have listened to the video that this was a “sweeet” banana pudding. It is really sweet. Next time I make this I will cut back on the sugar. I prefer moderately sweet. Just different preferences. I love how rich and fluffy the pudding gets without eggs! Otherwise, this is a great recipe and will try again. UPDATE: I tried this recipe again and cut the sugar in half (again I love a moderately sweet pudding), this is an amazing recipe!! Please give it a try and just adjust the recipe for your tastes. ❤

Finally a recipe with banana pudding without using egg yolks eggs are going to become very expensive someone told us they're going to become like $12 dozen and by the end of the year maybe and hopefully not so I always worry cuz my family loves eggs in the morning and they also love banana pudding and I always made it the old fashioned way so I'm going to try this recipe it looks promising it looks very good and the Sugar's a little high I might have to cut the sugar cuz we don't like it syrupy sweet we like it like you know moderately sweet and it is really great recipe though it looks very easy even better than tapering eggs and all this stuff oh this is great I'm glad thank you very much for the great banana pudding recipe and I will let you know how it comes out when I make it

I’ve made this twice, and both times the pudding doesn’t thicken up until I add like 4x the cornstarch amount. Any ideas why?

I'm not sure but I'm not the biggest fan of the cornstarch taste. I added 1 egg yolk and it thickened quite fast. The egg yolk doesn't leave a taste

It’s definitely a taste thing for me.Kinda like a very slight eggy aftertaste. It seems to happen only with homemade vanilla pudding.
