Belizeans eat a lot of red kidney beans and white rice. Sometimes it's cooked together to make a dish called rice and beans, but most of the time we cook the beans and the rice separately and pair them with kind of meat.

I am so excited about your show. I spent 4 months in Belize, and I fell in LOVE with the food. I did not bring any recipes back with me except for 1 recipe and I lost that one! I can’t wait to cook for my family the wonderful food I got to experience!

Mom always used thyme, garlic, salt, pepper, green pepper, onion, and some sort of pork flavoring.

I'm looking forward to making this recipe. Just to note the rubber is breaking down on the handle of your scraper. Use rubbing alcohol (at least 90% Isopropyl alcohol) on the handle and it''ll take away all that sticky stuff that has risen out of the rubber.
