Sounds nice! Great techniques. Just curious however, doesn't this cause phasing problems? Since the same sample is being duplicated. Alternative could be to use the attack of a different kick right

I never had phasing problem with this technique because the duplicated kick is not identical anymore with EQ. Also, I made another tutorial using 3 different kicks to build your "perfect" kick : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbaZot2FmdSZcY0.html

when samples are identical you get an increase in volume

It's more likely to have phase issues with a diferent sample. If the samples are identical you will get an increase in volume.

simple as hell but good, the only thing I would have done in a different way is to start with a sampler and on that add a kick, but other than that very cool and simple patent

@@DaFresh Full agreement, that's a fact. On the other hand, I did it today in ableton and even simpler is better than sampler. But the effects are mega good and it's simple

Bonjour DA FRESH, je te remercie pour tes tutos très pratiques. J'ai cependant une question sous live 11 ? j'ai un différence de son entre la pré écoute de mon kick et le son quand il est sur la piste ? Aucun warp ou module sur la piste ? si je glisse le kick dans un sampler, le son est idem. On dirait que ma piste étouffe le kick par rapport à la pré écoute. Je te remercie ton avis.

Euh... Si il n'y a vraiment rien sur la piste c'est peut être que le volume de ta pré-écoute est plus fort que le volume de tes pistes (?). Pour régler le volume de la pré-écoute c'est le petit casque en bas à droite à côté du master bus.

@@DaFresh Le son est est comme étouffé, il n'y rien sur la piste ... Ce qui est fou c'est que cela dépend du sample et c'est régulièrement avec des kicks ...

Salut, pourquoi un utility pour garder les basses en mono en dessous de 300hz et pas 120? je pensais que tout ce qui était au dessus de 120 devait être en stéréo??

Tu peux à 120 pas de problème. Moi j'aime bien avoir tous les bas vraiment mono sur mon kick et laisser cette place de "stereo" entre 120 et 300 pour la basse.

Great video, but at one point you say to put the Bass Mono at 30Hz, but in the video it looks like it says 300Hz. Was that a typo or is it supposed to be set to 300Hz?

Si le son dupliqué est parfaitement identique et parfaitement synchronisé il n'y a aucun problème de phase mais simplement le son sera amplifié. Les problèmes de phase interviennent si tu décales (quelques ms ou plus) le son dupliqué par rapport à l'autre.

Boris Brejcha a dit durant une interview qu’il n’utilisais jamais de compresseur durant la phase de mix ! Uniquement au mastering. Que penses tu de cette idée ? Je trouve ses Drums particulièrement percutant … Y’a t-il une raison à cela ?

J'en utilise très peu aussi. Dans la vidéo c'est surtout pour "coller" les 2 kicks ensemble et ajouter légèrement du punch.

@@DaFresh D’accord. Merci pour ton retour. Je pense qu’il faut l’utiliser avec parcimonie pour ne pas trop écraser le signal et supprimer certaines fréquences qui sont nécessaire à la clarté du son.

@@piloufacemusic7706 regarde son interview il n’utilise aucune compression il fait tout à l’equa, c’est pour ça qu’il gagne en dynamique je pense. Il compresse uniquement au mastering.
