the blades are NOT sharp in vitamix blender cups. they are intentionally dull to pulverize everything into a smooth consistency.

Oops forgot to watch my cream and it got too warm! Now it’s in the fridge to cool. Not sure if I can re-whip when it’s cool

I like to add a little salt when I make butter.
@221b-Maker-Street6 ай бұрын
Yes, you add that at the end after squeezing the buttermilk out if you want salted butter.

What's the difference between squeezing out the buttermilk by hand without using water versus in water? Have you tried both? I'm going to try this with my vitamixer so I'm just wondering before I do it. Thanks so much for your video.
@relishthekitchen2 жыл бұрын
Just squeezing may not get all the milk washed off the butter. You want to get all the milk washed off the butter if you want to keep it more than a day.
@221b-Maker-Street6 ай бұрын
The ice-cold water helps. flush out any remaining buttermilk. My guess is that your non-rinsed butter would go off much quicker than two weeks.

So what if you wanted to make garlic butter? Where in the process should you add other ingredients?
@relishthekitchen4 жыл бұрын
You should add other ingredients after you wash the butter completely and before you wrap it for chilling in the refrigerator (pretty much the end of the process shown in this video). I have a video where I took this butter and made garlic butter out of it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f9eGeZxkrtSbYWQ.html I hope this helps!

Informative video. Thank you (what’s up with the water sound during washing??!?!!!!?)
@relishthekitchen4 жыл бұрын
I sped up the video and did not have any sound. Thought water sound was better than silence. I hope you try making your own butter! It really tastes awesome!

The blades are NOT sharp, that's the whole point of a Vitamix, they last 25+ years because the blades never get dull(er)

When would we add salt?
@relishthekitchen2 жыл бұрын
After you finish washing the butter, you can add salt or other flavors (herbs, honey, etc) and mix it in.

How long to churn in Vitamix before one see the butter separating from buttermilk?
@relishthekitchen3 жыл бұрын
Typically about a minute. Make sure that the cream is very cold when you start as the Vitamix will heat it if churned too long.

My butter turned out bitter in taste . Can it be due to sour home made yogurt?
@JGilly-cp1tk3 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely

The ingredients always determine how the end results will be I recommend having it in toast or a cake which is fruity

Vitamix blades are not as sharp as you think.
@BigCountrySo-CaL619 Жыл бұрын
Which Vitamix are you talking about, I’ve had mine for four years, and the blades are pretty sharp. Pretty much all the Vitamix’s I’ve had, the blades are razor blade sharp.
@221b-Maker-Street6 ай бұрын
@@BigCountrySo-CaL619 I've had a Vitamix for over 10 years and the blades are deliberately _not_ sharp. That's why they last 25+ years - the blades never dull. The power comes from the hp of the motor; not the sharpness of the blade.
@BigCountrySo-CaL6196 ай бұрын
@@221b-Maker-Street I don’t know, just that all the containers that I have had, the blades are pretty sharp. And you’re right, they don’t necessarily need to be sharp, because of the power of the motor.
