Good video. (Too hot for sticky Velcro in hot Arizona, it "melts" off all surfaces. I use suction cups with a hook that clamps down- 4 for $1 at the dollar stores. Have to make a small hole for the hook to go thru)

For everybody bitching because the velcro prevents rolling down the windows, he installed these on windows that didn't open anyway. They were fixed windows, non-operable ones. So the velcro didn't mess with anything.

My tip is to leave an inch border of fabric around the edges. In most all cases, this extra material will help block more light that could be missed by the reflectix AND will hold the covers to the windows without the need for velcro, magnets etc.

@@MichelleEstrada if you have any sewing skills, you could wrap fabric around a thin wire and sew it to the border of the sunshade to make it more rigid. Should stay inside the window sill

Yesterday I did a $7 DIY curtain that can easily be pulled into place within a few Seconds! It stays in place so I never have to keep taking it down & putting it back up, use up space to store it, etc. I use 2 1/4" X 5ft PEX Pipe (PVC) $2.25ea, Paracord to feed through it and secure it to the sun visor and the back seat roof handle. Snip holes about every 3-4 inch in a dark lightweight $2 tshirt fabric from Walmart. 1 Clip for each of the front seat ceiling handles to support the PVC and fabric. A pieces of Velcro on the dashboard. This will allow you to have one long piece of fabric that can easily slide into place & gather up next to the seat or even better yet, behind the headrest so that you can still have complete visibility in the blind-spot & your back seat can stay hidden 24/7! The fabric I used is dark enough where people can't see in but I can still see out.0

@@Flimzes it would but some people don't want to be easily spotted out for sleeping in their car. Having the reflectix showing through the window makes it obvious someone is sleeping in the vehicle. I did this with our van last October before our four week, 7.500 mile camping trip around the country. The velcro squares on the glass idea worked ok at first (on our non-roll-down side and rear windows), but even in October the sun beating down from the outside soon melted the glue holding the velcro squares to the glass and they started just pulling off with the reflective screen. I had brought the roll of velcro along just in case I had to replace any along the way, and at first I replaced the tabs as they stopped sticking to the glass, but by about mid trip I gave up. From that point on we just wedged the shades in the window openings as best as possible (some held ok, some did not). I experimented with sticking the velcro tabs to the inside plastic frame of the window instead of the glass wherever possible, but the texture of the plastic interior trim prevented the velcro from sticking for very long. I was surfing for better window shade ideas before our next camping trip when I came across this video. Cutting your own reflective shades works well, the velcro tab part is the weak link especially from spring to fall when the sun is more direct.

Black colour to the glass side is better than the silver one. This way you are better hidden inside. Silver is quite ok for the interior because gives bright while using one lamp only. You did otherwise. :))) Your glas in a windows is dark, so the silver is not as fast noticable. Having a regular windows the car starts to look like a tin with you sleeping inside. We want to avoid that!!
