DIY: Learn how to make low cost cyclone dust collector for vacuum cleaner which can attach to ready made or home made vacuum cleaner. Materials used for this project are plastic bottle, mini food container, PVC pipe and 12 volt DC motor. almost material you can find from home or Junkyard.

Quite neat, the shape isn't really optimised but does the job. I guess this would make more sense as an addon for a vacuum cleaner to save up on filters/bags.

This gives me a basic understanding of how my $300 Dyson vacuum works but then at least I'm paying for more portability due to the durability and compactness.

+ahmet hamdi çelik Yeah I just watched one where this guy made a bowl that had various squares in it, it was blocks of wood, stuck together, and made into a bowl. Very relaxing to watch indeed, and fascinating.

Well that was cool. Do you think a filter would be needed on the vertical tube inside the cyclone chamber that goes to the motor? I'm just wondering if smaller particles of dust could be pulled up into it when they reach the bottom of the cyclone.

This cleaner good only for heavy large particles. What about small particles? For example wood dust? I m sure it doesnt work with small ones.

No fine partical will escape due to high velocity. U cant trap them without filter. Cyclone work on heavy particals n setld down due to gravity. Don't make fool people
